Republic of the Philippines Department of Education: Region VIII [Eastern Visayas} DIVISION OF LEYTE Government Center, Palo Leyte 4 June 2019 DIVISION MEMORANDUM No. __872 +8. 2019 AN INVITATION FOR DIVISION CONTEXTUALIZERS OF HOME-BASED LESSON PLANS AND LEARNING SUPPORT MATERIALS IN MAPEH TO District Supervisors/Districts-In-Charge Elementary/High School Heads District MAPEH Coordinators/MAPEH Department Heads MAPEH Altruists 1, The Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, contemplates that Contextualization be given emphasis as stipulated in Sec. 10.2 |d] and [h], respectively “The curriculum shall be contextualized and global’; and “The curriculum shail be flexible enough to enable and allow school to localize, indigenize, and enhance [the curriculum] based on their respective educational and social contexts.” . 2. Corollary to the abovementioned premise, this office under its Banner Project SEEDLING in coordination with the Curriculum Implementation Division through Project CRADLE is informing the field about this INVITATION FOR DIVISION CONTEXTUALIZERS OF THE HOME-BASED LESSON PLANS IN MAPEH. 3. The division is inviting participants for the writeshop of contextualized lesson plans in MAPEH which is home-based in nature. In case of report that the identified writer is working during class hours which disrupts classes, the said writer shall automatically be dropped from the roll of identified contextualizers. 4. The qualifications of invited contextualizer are as follows: - possesses excellent working attitude and a team worker = computer literate - willing to sign a consent form 5. The identified Division Contextualizers will enjoy the following benefits: - service credits or compensatory time-off corresponding to finished outputs ~ certificate of participation as contextualizer - certificate of recognition as curriculum writer ~ certificate of recognition as co-chair of the technical working group - acknowledgement of their names in the bound copies of the contextualized materials - considered eligible to conduct echo seminar-training on contextualization 6. Interested contextualizers who are willing to commit their whole-hearted focus and support to the successful and effective conduct of the writeshop may send the following as pre-registration through text message: complete name with middie initial, MAPEH component and grade level preferred as field of writing, school and district then send to the EPSvr in MAPEH thru his cellular phone number 09287231313. 7. The MAPEH teachers who pre-registered are enjoined to attend an Orientation to discuss guidelines and mechanics for the intended writeshop.
