Lipa Fiesta 2020 Photography Contest Mechanics and

Criteria

WHAT TO CAPTURE?

THEME: BaraKultura Natin, Ating Pagyamanin! - photos should capture the essence and
pride of “barako” nature in Lipeños’ daily lives. Photo subjects are not limited to Lipa’s
coffee beans and delicacies.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Open to all amateur and professional photography enthusiasts in Lipa City only.
Confirming entrant must send a copy of any valid government ID (e.g. voter’s ID, cedula,
barangay clearance) that will prove his or her residency in Lipa City.

2. The participant should take photo with relevance to the theme. Photos must be taken in the
local area of Lipa City.

3. DSLR and camera phones are allowed to be used by the participant.

4. All photo entries must be originally taken by the participants and should not include any
other markings on the photos such as watermarks, signatures, dates and/or time stamp.

THE FOLLOWING ENTRIES ARE DISQUALIFIED:

1. Photo entries containing dirty, foul and offensive images.

2. Photo entries that are digitally manipulated. However, basic post-processing such as
adjustments of contrast, minimal color-balancing, and sharpening are acceptable.

3. Photo entries that have been published in print or online or have been submitted to or have
won in any photography contests.

SUBMISSION OF PHOTO ENTRIES:

1. Only one (1) photo entry per participant.

2. The photo entry submission period starts on December 28, 2019 and ends on January 6,
2020; 11:59 PM. The photo entries should be submitted in JPEG or JPG format, high
resolution, and 25MB as the maximum file size.

3. For the submission of photo entry, kindly e-mail it to hello.lipa.anne@gmail.com following

this subject naming convention: BaraKultura Natin, Atin Pagyamanin: [Photo Entry Title]
SCREENING OF ENTRIES:

1. The participants will be notified through a call and registered mail for instructions
about the online voting period.

2. The official entries will be uploaded on the Hello Lipa fan page. The top 5 vote-getters
(like, heart, and wow reacts) will move on to the final round for judging.

3. The online voting period starts on January 7, 2020 and ends on January 11, 2020; 6 PM.

4. The top 5 vote-getters will be judged based on the following:

Final round judging criteria:

Relevance of Content - 30%

• Appropriateness to the theme

Creativity and Originality- 30%

• Overall concept

Visual Impact – 25%

• Effectivity of the entry visually

Overall Impression – 15%

5. The judging of entries will be on January 14, 2020. All entries will be displayed at the
Lipa City Hall from January 14, 2020 until January 20, 2020.

PRIZES:

Prizes at stake are as follows:

DISCLAIMERS:

1. The organizers reserve the right to adjust the timeline and/or mechanics to fit the
schedule of the Lipa City Fiesta activities.

2. The prize money will be paid for by the Lipa City government.

3. Likes, heart and wow reacts should be done in an organic way. Auto-likes, if proven, will
disqualify you from the contest.
