1. The event is open to all students of St. Augustine Academy of Bayawan, Inc.
2. There will be two categories for the Fun Run: Category A – Grades 1-6 and Category B – Grades 7 –
12.
3. There will be assigned teachers and students in the routes for the Fun Run.
4. No student is allowed to take a different route otherwise stated in the guidelines. Any student found to
have violated this rule shall not be eligible to win any prize.
Immediately after the Fun Run, a Zumba Party will follow.

CONTEST GUIDELINES FOR MASS PERFORMANCE

1. “Augustinians Go Greek” is a mass demonstration contest open to students and pupils of St. Augustine
Academy of Bayawan, Inc.
2. Participants shall be in contingents categorized to the following groups:
CATEGORY A
 Grade 4
 Grade 5
 Grade 6
CATEGORY B
 Freshmen (Grade 7)
 Sophies (Grade 8)
 Niners (Grade 9)
 Teners (Grade 10)
 Seniors (SHS)

3. Each contingent should be composed of at least 40 dancers and above; not including props men.
Participants for the Little / Mr. and Miss SAA 2019 may join in the production but should be made
sure that practice shall no be in conflict with Pageant Rehearsals.
4. The theme of the Mass Dance Competition shall be “Augustinians Go Greek”. This is a reference to the
presentation of a chosen Greek Literature or its excerpt with its main characters, plot, and setting
interpreted in a dance format.
5. Music for the performance can be of mixed type format as long as there is no offensive content in them. All
music should be given in FLASHDRIVE FORMAT on or before January 25, 2020. Failure to do so means
a 5 point deduction from the contingent’s overall score.
6. Each team is only given a total time of FIVE (5) TO EIGHT (8) MINUTES to perform, not including entrance
and exit time. The time will start with the first movement or start of music and stops with the end of the
music or indicated choreography. Any performance exceeding the said time limit will merit a 2-
point/minute deduction on EACH of the judge’s score sheet.
7. No stunts shall be allowed (lifting, tumbling, pyramids, etc.) on each performance. For this purpose, lifting is
defined as “any movement or action of which a performer’s feet are off the ground with the help of his or
her partner.” Safety measures must be observed at all times.
8. Costumes, Headdresses, and Make-up are allowed per creative interpretation of the contingents. Hand
props, backdrops, moving decks, sets, risers, etc. are allowed in the duration of the presentation GIVEN
THAT THESE SHALL NOT HINDER IN THE PRESENTATION OF THE OTHER CONTINGENTS AND
SHALL BE EASILY REMOVED FROM THE PERFORMANCE AREA.
9. No lighting design/special lights will be allowed.
10. All competitors will be assigned numbers for the competition through drawing of lots.
11. The following are strictly not allowed in the performance:
 Performance of dangerous choreography/routine
 Use of live animals
 Use of real fighting armor (e.g. sword, knife, guns, arrow, spears, etc.
 Use of any form of liquid (e.g. blood, oil, water, etc.)
 Use of fire, candles and any pyrotechnic materials.
 Use of confetti either drop or bomb.
 Breaking of glass, pots, etc.
 Audio visual presentation or screen projection
12. Trainers are allowed to help in the practice to help ease the burden of the teachers. However, this is under
the discretion of the Class Advisers given that they have informed the parents of the students through
formal letter or meeting.
13. The participating teams shall be judged according to the following criteria:

Synchronization and Timing - 25%


Choreography and Mastery of Presentation - 25%
Effective Use of Sets, Costuming, and Appropriateness
to the theme or genre - 20%
Energy, Poise, and Stage Presence - 20%
Overall Impression and Entertainment Value - 10%
TOTAL - 100%

Penalties/disqualifications:

Exceeding time limit - 2 pt / minute penalty per judge


Breaking safety rules - 10 pt penalty from overall score
Cursing /satanic music - 20 pt penalty from overall score
Use of unapproved
costumes/ props - 5 pt penalty per judge
No submission of music - Disqualification

14. The following prizes shall be awarded to the winners:

3. Third Place

15. Failure to comply with any of the foregoing guidelines will result to disqualification.
16. The judges’ decision is final and not subject to appeal.
17. Awarding will follow immediately after the competition.
18. Contest scores shall be valued as Performance Tasks in MAPEH, PE, Aral. Pan and related subjects.
CONTEST GUIDELINES FOR the Augustinian Short Film Festival

 Date and Time: January 29, 2020 at 5:00pm call time

I. Guidelines

1. The contest is open to all students of St. Augustine Academy of Bayawan, Inc.
2. Participants shall be in contingents categorized to the following groups:
 Contingent 1 - Grade 4-6
 Contingent 2 - Grade 7
 Contingent 3 - Grade 8
 Contingent 4 - Grade 9
 Contingent 5 - Grade 10
 Contingent 6 - SHS
3. Contest entries should focus on any modern contemporary issue of society. The main highlight of these
entries should be the theme of “FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE”. By this, “salvation” is defined as “being
saved (by God and Jesus Christ)”; deliverance or redemption from sin and its consequences.”
4. Each contingent should assign Actors, Director/s, Producer/s, Editor/s, and Crew. Participants of the Little
/Mr. and Miss SAA 2019 are not allowed to join in this competition to avoid conflict of schedules
unless granted by the organizers.
5. The entries should be in short-film format only. Thus the duration for each entry should be a minimum of 15
minutes and maximum of 20 minutes including opening and closing credits. The final film produced
should have ORIGINAL Storyline and script.
6. All entries must be accompanied by a poster of the films and a 1 to 2 minute trailer for use in the promotion.
Said trailer should be submitted on or before JANUARY 24, 2020.
Poster should be 1.5 feet x 2 feet in dimension printed in Tarpaulin and shall be judged as BEST PICTURE.
Musical Score used in the background or official trailer can be of original composition or be taken from
another produced source under the Free Commons Act.
The organizers will have the sole rights of posting the posters and trailers in the SAA Official Facebook Page
for promotions purposes. Private parties shall not be allowed to post content but may share official FB posts
from the said Page.
7. The short film must be original and no watermark of any kind should be on the film.
8. The film must be of highest quality possible. Minimum requirements should be in 16:9 format, in AVI, MPEG-
4, or any other high quality video format.
9. Adult / offensive content of any kind will not be entertained and will lead to direct disqualification.
10. Due credits must be given to the cast and the crew in the film. Only students are allowed to be in the
production, content creation, and editing team for each contingent entry. No outside nor professional
help should be allowed. A violation to this rule is grounds for disqualification. Raw files of video editing
software should be kept in case of inquiries with regards to production. Failure to show the raw files upon
request shall be treated for direct disqualification.
11. Films can be in English, Tagalog, Bisaya or a combination of these languages. Subtitles may be added to the
film but is not necessary.
12. Filming outside school grounds shall be allowed provided that Waivers / Parents’ Consent shall be signed by
Actors and Production Crew. No Filming or Production shall be allowed to commence without the
requirements and Approval of the Organizers. Teachers should accompany the students when filming, any
untoward incident that occurs with the production staff due to negligence shall be immediately under the
jurisdiction of the Teacher/Adviser giving the permission to film.

13. Entries should be submitted on or before January 24, 2020. Failure to submit on time will be a 10 point
deduction from the overall score of the entry.
14. A closed door screening will be done on January 25, 2019 (Saturday) and a panel of experts will criticize the
entries for judging.
15. The following criteria shall be used in judging entries:

Engagement 20%

How do you rate the audience engagement of the film?


Consider in your rating:
 How strongly does this entry stimulate thoughts and ideas?
 Does the film provoke an emotional response?
Technical Quality

How do you rate the technical quality of the film?


There are three technical components to rate the technical skills and methods
used:
Cinematography 10%
 Is the camera steady and are the shots framed and focused?
 Are close-ups and camera angles used to add meaning to the story?
 Is the lighting and camera positioning visually effective?
Editing 10%
 Does the editing help to clarify the story and enhance the pacing and
flow of the story?
 Are transitions smooth and well-paced or distracting?
 Are the opening titles and closing credits appealing and easy to read?

Audio, Music, Sound Effects 10%


 Does the audio and soundtrack complement the story?
 Is the dialogue and/or narration clear and easy to understand?
 If there are sound effects, are they appropriate to the story or do they
detract from the film?

16. Public screening of the entries shall be on January 29, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the SAA Inner Campus during the
Short Film Festival Awards Gala. No public viewing in any form (live or social media platforms) are
allowed before the contest date. A violation to this rule will merit immediate disqualification.
17. Actors and the Production Team should be present during the Awards Gala, wearing formal/ semi-formal /
cocktail dress attires.
18. The following awards shall be presented during the awards gala:

A. VOCAL SOLO SINGING CONTEST

1. The Vocal Solo Singing Contest is open to bonafide students of St. Augustine Academy of Bayawan,
Inc. from Grade 1 to 3. Participants of the Little /Mr. and Miss SAA 2019 are not allowed to join in this
competition to avoid conflict of schedules. Please refer to violations for remarks on participants.
2. Each contestant may choose any Gospel or Worship Song of his or her choice.
3. The Organizers have the right to reject song entries if content and manner in any form of the contest
piece is found to be unacceptable or inappropriate for the contest.
4. No medley of different songs are allowed. Only one musical piece should be played in the entire
duration of the contestants’ performance.
5. Guidelines for participants and audience:
a. Contestant must be in proper attire (cocktail dresses below the knee are acceptable), footwear
should be closed, heeled (for girls), and feet not exposed. No T-shirts, sleeveless dresses,
maong pants, rubber shoes, shorts, sandals, slippers, and similar garments are allowed.
b. Props (body or hand) are not allowed for use.
c. Official microphones/lapels provided by the committee shall be used.
d. Audience (especially the trainer) must refrain from coaching to avoid deduction.
e. Audience must refrain from applause until all participants are done.

6. Criteria for Judging:


 Voice Quality 25%
(vocal intonation and projection, accuracy of pitch, tone color)
 Diction, Timing and Dynamics 25%
(color of vowels, proper emphasis or accent on the words,
softness and loudness, rhythm)
 Musicality 25%
(appropriateness of the chosen song to the voice of the
singer and his/her style)
 Breathing and Phrasing 10%
(correct cutting of lines, legato - in a smooth, flowing manner,
without breaks between notes., staccato - with each sound or
note sharply detached or separated from the others.)
 Interpretation and Stage Presence 15%
(facial expression, proper focus and attire)
 Total 100 %

7. Each contestant shall be given a number to determine the sequence of performance.


8. Winners shall be ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and shall receive trophies and citations from
camp committee.
9. the manner that two or more contingents have submitted the same song title, the first to submit shall be
given priority to use the musical piece.
10. Winners will be announced during the Awarding Ceremonies on January 31, 2020, during the Mr. and
Miss SAA Pageant Night.
11. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
B. VOCAL DUET SINGING CONTEST

1. The Vocal Duet Singing Contest is open to bonafide students of St. Augustine Academy of Bayawan,
Inc. from Grade 4 to 6. Participants of the Little /Mr. and Miss SAA 2019 are not allowed to join in this
competition to avoid conflict of schedules. Please refer to violations for remarks on participants.
2. Each contingent may choose any song of any genre of his or choice except for metal, rock, and related
genres.
3. The Organizers have the right to reject song entries if content and manner in any form of the contest
piece is found to be unacceptable or inappropriate for the contest.
4. No medley of different songs are allowed. Only one musical piece should be played in the entire
duration of the contestants’ performance.

b. Sophies (Grade 8)
c. Niners (Grade 9)
d. Tenners (Grade 10)
e. Seniors (Grade 11)
2. Each contingent must send an entry which are composed of THREE (3) students composed of either all
boys, all girls or a combination of either sex. Participants of the Little /Mr. and Miss SAA 2019 are not
allowed to join in this competition to avoid conflict of schedules. Please refer to list of participants
attached.
3. Each contestant has the chance to choose a popular song of their choice. These songs should not
have any satanic, sexual or other negative subliminal content in them. They should not be in metallic or
rap genre/form or should contain any rap content in them.
4. The Organizers have the right to reject song entries if content and manner in any form of the contest
piece is found to be unacceptable or inappropriate for the contest.
5. No medley of different songs are allowed. Only one musical piece should be played in the entire
duration of the contestants’ performance.
6. Guidelines for participants and audience:
a. Contestant must be in proper attire (cocktail dresses below the knee are acceptable), footwear
should be closed, heeled (for girls), and feet not exposed. No T-shirts, sleeveless dresses,
maong pants, rubber shoes, shorts, sandals, slippers, and similar garments are allowed.
b. Props (body or hand) are not allowed for use.
c. Official microphones/lapels provided by the committee shall be used.
d. Audience (especially the trainer) must refrain from coaching to avoid deduction.
e. Audience must refrain from applause until all participants are done.

7. Criteria for Judging:


 Voice Quality 25%
(vocal intonation and projection, accuracy of pitch, tone color)
 Diction, Timing and Dynamics 25%
(color of vowels, proper emphasis or accent on the words,
softness and loudness, rhythm)
 Musicality and Harmony of Voices 25%
(appropriateness of the chosen song to the voice of the
singer and his/her style; There is obvious use of harmonization and
distinct voices can be heard from three performers)
 Breathing and Phrasing 10%
(correct cutting of lines, legato - in a smooth, flowing manner,
without breaks between notes., staccato - with each sound or
note sharply detached or separated from the others.)
 Interpretation and Stage Presence 15%
(facial expression, proper focus and attire)
 Total 100 %

8. Each contestant shall be given a number to determine the sequence of performance.


9. Winners shall be ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and shall receive trophies and citations from the
committee.
10. In the manner that two or more contingents have submitted the same song title, the first to submit shall
be given priority to use the musical piece.
11. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
CONTEST GUIDELINES FOR IndakSayaw Festival
January 31, 2020
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. The committee reserves the right to amend these guidelines and to refuse any entry on any grounds
with proper advice to the parties concerned.
2. All music must be recorded on HIGH-QUALITY FORMAT IN A CLEAN FLASHDRIVE and must be
properly labeled 1 day before the contest date. Cassette tapes, cell phones and live band/music are not
allowed. Failure to do so will merit 5 points deduction from the overall score.
3. No lighting design/special lights will be allowed.
4. All competitors will be assigned numbers for the competition through drawing of lots.
5. Participants of the Little /Mr. and Miss SAA 2019 are not allowed to join in this competition to avoid
conflict of schedules.
6. Prompting of competitors from the backstage or from the audience is not allowed.
7. Personal photography and video-taping will be strictly prohibited during the competition proper. Official
photographers and videographers will be provided by the organizers for documentation purposes.
8. Sets are allowed during the performance (i.e. use of tables, chairs, sets, stages, etc) as long as they
will be easily removed and shall not hinder the performance of the next presenters.
9. The following are strictly not allowed in the performance:
 Performance of dangerous choreography/routine
 Use of live animals
 Use of real fighting armor (e.g. sword, knife, guns, arrow, spears, etc.)
 Use of any form of liquid (e.g. blood, oil, water, etc.)
 Use of fire, candles and any pyrotechnic materials.
 Use of confetti either drop or bomb.
 Breaking of glass, pots, etc.
 Audio visual presentation or screen projection
 Hand props may be used (e.g. stick, fan, ring, umbrella, etc.). Bamboo, wood, steel or
plastic pole may be used but must not be more than 3 meters long.
 Failure to comply with any of the foregoing guidelines will result to disqualification.
 The judges’ decision is final and not subject to appeal.

A. STREET DANCE COMPETITION

1. The contest is open to the following contingents:


a. Graders (Gr. 4-6)
b. Grade 7
c. Grade 8
d. Grade 9
e. Grade 10
f. SHS
2. There should be 8-12 members in one contingent. Participants of the Modern Contemporary and
Mass Dance Contest is no longer allowed to join in this category.
3. The contest piece must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than five (6) minutes long.
Excluding entrance and exit.
4. COSTUMING: The participants should wear the 72nd Founding Anniversary T-shirt and may add other
items of clothing to appeal to their overall theme.
5. Groups are permitted to mix and use music of their choice. However, these music should not contain
any negative and demeaning content, racial slurs, discriminatory content, and curse words and similar
content. Doing so is grounds for immediate disqualification from the contest.
6. The routine must be performed in its entirety to the music selected, prepared and submitted by the
group.
7. Groups should include in their performance a broad selection of street dance styles such as locking,
popping, hip-hop house, krump, new school, urban, vogueing, bboying, without excessive use of the
same move or pattern. A varied range of styles should be shown in the choreography of arm, leg and
body movement.
8. Appropriate attire should be observed in the competition. It may include accessories such as hats,
caps, gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc. as long as it seen fit without revealing too much of the human
body. Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed provided it is not offensive or out
of character.
9. Movements that are categorized under Break Dance are permitted, but should not control/ dominate the
performance / no toss in stunts.
10. Any move where the competitors’ weight is solely on the neck/ head i.e. head spins, head stands, etc.
is not allowed.
11. Routine must consist primarily of hip-hop technique. May include street dance, free-style, funk, ‘pop-n-
lock’, break dancing. NO ACROBATIC TRICKS ALLOWED.
12. Criteria for Judging:
a. Choreography and Style 35%
b. Performance (Body, Shape, Energy) 35%
c. Effective use of Costume 15%
d. Overall Impact 15%

B. SMALL GROUP MODERN CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPETITION


1. The contest is open to all Augustinians enrolled in the current school year as per contingent:
a. Graders (Elem. 4-6)
b. Freshmen (Grade 7)
c. Sophies (Grade 8)
d. Niners (Grade 9)
e. Tenners (Grade 10)
f. Seniors (Grade 11 and 12)
2. Each contingent/team shall only be composed of 4-6 members (small group category).
3. The contest piece must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than five (6) minutes long.
4. The dance piece should be choreographed in modern contemporary form. For this purpose,
modern contemporary dance is defined as “Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that
combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. The
term “contemporary” is somewhat misleading: it describes a genre that developed during the mid-20th
century and is still very popular today.

Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet.
Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, using gravity to pull them down to the floor.
5. Music used should be any form of Christian praise and worship song; may it be from traditional
Gospel song collections or contemporary worship songs.
6. Soft ballet shoes or pointe shoes may be worn (optional); if not available, dancers may opt to dance
barefoot.
7. Hand props are allowed in the duration of the entire performance. Sets may be used to deliver the
overall appeal of the presentation as long as it will not obstruct the stage and can be easily installed
and immediately removed from the performance area.
8. Costumes must be appropriate to the concept of the dance. Nudity and revealing too much of the
human body is strictly prohibited.
9. For variety, no two groups shall be allowed to use the same music. If in the case that two groups will
submit the same music, the first group who submitted shall be given the honor to use the music.
NOTE: Music of the same title but of a different version of the music is allowed in this case.
10. Obscene choreography, indecent movements, negative ideas and killing of animals are strictly
prohibited.
11. Criteria for judging:
