The research is about the effects of fake local products among students of UiTM Shah Alam
especially women. Nowadays, local product is trending in social medial that were

1.2. Statement of the problem


Cosmetic or skincare products sold openly at night markets, kiosks in shopping malls and
sundry shops are a cause for concern. Nevertheless, because they are cheap and
easily available, they appeal to consumers, especially teenagers. One can get fake
versions of high-end brands such as Huda Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and Mac
Cosmetics for as low as RM9, whereas the original products would cost between
RM80 to RM300. In addition, local skincare products also cause concern among the
citizens because it can give acceleration effects. However, these local fake cosmetics
are very dangerous for the consumer because it is harmful to their health and give

1.3. Purposes of the study
Fake local products compromise of cosmetics and skincare. It is crucial to know the usage of
these products among the teenagers especially the students because of their lower

1.6. Significance of the study


The result of the study will be of great benefit to the students which is can spark awareness
about health care and being smart user and also reliable way to understand and act
on the complexities of various issues which the student is facing. Firstly, this study
can enhance the knowledge about substance that were used to clean and improve
the skin, hair and other parts of the body. This study also attempts to identify the
factors that influence the consumption of fake local products among consumers. In
order to get the good output, the research need to be done in maximum. It also can Commented [7]: needs

1.7. Scope of the study

2. Research methodology

the effect of fake local product among students UiTM Shah Alam. In order to get the

2.2. Respondents of the study

This research used a questionnaire to gather data on the effect of fake local product among
