ABBREVIATIONS
ch: Chain
sc: Single Crochet
1 inc: single crochet 2 stitches in the same stitch
1 dec: single crochet 2 stitches together
sl: Slip Stitch
st: Stitch
dc: Double Crochet

MATERIAL YOU NEED


- Yarn in Yellow, Orange, White and Mint
- 2.50 mm crochet hook (or the size you need depending on your type of yarn)
- Tapestry Needle
- Polyester stuffing
- 9 mm safety eyes
- Black embroidery floss
- Locking stitch marker
Approximate size for a finished Sunshine Mobile: 13 x 20 cm

Yarn used for the pattern is Scheepjes Catona in the colors: Yellow #280, Orange #281,
White #106, Light Pink #222, Mint #385

You are going to crochet in a continuous spiral, do not join the rounds.
Use a locking stitch marker to mark the beginning of the rounds.

SUN
With Yellow
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
R2: [1 inc] x6 (12)
R3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6 (18)
R4: [1 inc, 2 sc] x6 (24)
R5: [3 sc, 1 inc] x6 (30)
R6: [1 inc, 4 sc] x6 (36)
R7: [5 sc, 1 inc] x6 (42)
R8: [1 inc, 6 sc] x6 (48)

Now it’s time to attach the safety eyes , attach them between rounds 6 and 7. Embroid a
black mouth, I used 3 strands of DMC embroidery floss for the mouth. (Pics on page 6)

Start stuffing and continue doing that as the hole becomes smaller

CHEEKS (make 2)
With pink yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
sl in the first sc, fasten off leaving a 10 cm long tail for sewing.
Pin the cheeks to the sun and sew them on. (Pics on page 8)

SUNBEAMS (Make 9)
With Orange
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
R2: 6 sc (6)
R3: [1 inc] x6 (12)
R4: 12 sc (12)
R5: [2 sc, 1 inc] x3 (16)
R6-8: 16 sc (3 rounds, 16)
Leave a long yarn tail for sewing, Pin the sunbeams to the sun and sew them on one by one.

CLOUDS (Make 5)
With White
R1: Chain 11
R2: Starting in the second chain from the hook, 9 sc, 3 sc in the same ch, turn around the
corner without turning the piece over, 8 sc, 2 sc in the same ch. 1 sl in the first sc.
R3: Start in the third sc from the hook*5 dc in the same st, skip 1, 1 sl, skip 1* x6.
Stop work with 1 sl, Cut the yarn and fasten the threads.
Sew on the clouds one by one, see pictures on pages 10-11

RAINDROPS (Make 5)
With Mint
Start with a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
R2: [1 inc] x6 (12)
R3-5: 12 sc (3 rounds, 12)
R6: [1 dec] x6 (6)
Sew the hole togheter. Cut the yarn but leave a 30 cm long yarn tail (that’s the piece that the
raindrops are going to hang from)

Make sure that you place them evenly, when you are pleased with the way you have placed
your raindrops it’s time to sew them on. Sew the raindrops on to the bottom of the sun
slightly under the bottom clouds. (Pics on page 12)

Take a nice piece of string or braid a long string and sew it on the top of the sun.
Make it as long as you need depending on how or where you are going to hang your
Sunshine Mobile ☺
