MAIN DATA ON TRACTORS

The wheeled tractors T40, T40A, T40H and their modifications

T40 "Super", T40A "Super", T40H "Super" are available both as
units completed with standard equipment and those completed with
additional equipment to be employed on Customer's request.

Fig. 1. Tractor T40

The all-purpose wheeled tractors T40 (Fig. 1) or T40 "Super"

are farm machines to be used mainly for rowcrops.
The efficient air-cooled diesel engine, wide range of working spe-
eds, rear and side power takeoff shafts with independent and syn-
chronized drives, hydraulic lift system with linkage hitch, pickup

clearance, reversibility of all gears, - all contribute to making the
tractor suitable for operation with various mounted, semi-mounted
and trailed machines and implements thus enabling a great variety
of farming jobs to be performed.
, The high haulage speeds, manoeuver ability, braking system, for-
". ~ ced differential . locking, audio and visual signalling means, all en-
sure high efficiency and safety in transportation of cargo.

Fig. 4. Tractor T40A

When coupled to a mechanical shovel, bulldozer, excavator, loa-

der and pit digger, the tractors prove very labour saving machines;
they also can be used to drive stationary implements through a
pulley.
At the customer's request the tractors can be fitted either with
a canvas cab (Fig. 2) or a closed metal cab (Fig. 3).
The hydraulic servo motor of the steering system, air cooling of
the engine and electric starter, combined with the ease and conve-
nience in operation of the controls and availability of reliable means
for checking engine operation, contribute to better service conditions
for the driver.
For operation on slopes up to 16 deg. it is advisable to employ
tractors T40H and T40H, "Super". These tractors are distinguished
by higher stability.
5
The drive and steering wheels are fitted with mudguards and
have the wheeltrack adjustable within 1200 to 1800 mm. The ground
clearance can be set either at 500 or 650 mm (the ground clearance
under the front driving axle of tractors T40A and T40A "Super" is
not adjustable and equals 540 mm).
The fuel tank and. the driver's spring-mounted seat are located
between the mudguards of the rear wheels.
The tractor is equipped with a hydraulic systlem which consists
of a distributor arranged at the right side of the back wall of the
accumulator case; oil pump with a drive; oil tank; main power cy-
linder located under the fuel tank; linkage hitch located on the rear
flat of the power transmission housing; piping and hoses for con-
necting the hydraulic system components, and outlets to the external
power cylinders.
A hydraulic servo motor connected to the hydraulic system oil
pump through a distribution valve enables a torque applied to the
steering wheel to be decreased. Connection between the steering
wheel and the hydraulic servo motor is through a steering shaft and
a pair of card an joints.
For starting the engine the tractor is provided with a starter
energized from storage batteries, a heating plug and a decompres-
sor gear.
The electrical equipment comprises four lighting lamps, a num-
ber plate light, clearance lights, indicating and dashboard lamps.
generator, relay-type regulator, horn, switches and wiring system.
For the purpose of trailing the tractor has a pickup hook control-
led through the hydraulic system.
