First of all, let’s pray and thank God who has been giving us blessings, and guidance so we can

attend
and meet in this place in good condition. Thanks to the master of the program who gave me a chance to
speak in front of you all.

Standing in front of you all, I would like to deliver a speech about Bullying. First, what is bullying? Based
on what I have learned, bullying is the use of force, threat, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others.
The behavior is repeated or can be repeated over time.

Have you ever been bullied? Have you ever cried all night just because you don’t want to go to school
the next day? From the experience I had encountered and listened to, being bullied by the people
around you really change one’s lifestyle. Some people think it’s just a stage of life. Some think it is
normal but the fact is, bullying is not normal or a socially acceptable behavior. The bullied gives bullies
power by acceptance of this behavior.

So what are the causes of bullying? The causes of bullying to bullies can be such as they feel strong,
powerful, rich and have everything. They saw the weakness of others so they have the guts to bully
them.

According to Doc Ryan of Cyber Bullying Seminars of 2009, bullying has several forms. These are
physical, verbal, social, psychological, sexual and cyber bullying. Physical bullying is when a person or a
group uses physical actions to bully someone such as hitting, poking, tripping or pushing and
intentionally damaging someone’s belongings. Verbal bullying is the repeated or systematic name
calling, insults, taunting, and gossiping. Social bullying is indirect actions such as lying about someone,
spreading rumors, playing a nasty joke that make the person feel humiliated. Psychological bullying is
threatening, manipulating or stalking someone. Sexual bullying is a type of bullying and harassment that
occurs in connection with a person’s sex, body, sexual orientation or with sexual activity. It can be
physical, verbal or emotional. Last one is cyber bullying. Cyber Bullying is a method of bullying that uses
technologies.

The next topic is about the effects of bullying. Bullying can affect anyone who is involved. Those who are
bullied, those who bully and those who watched or witnessed the act. People who are bullied might feel
anxious, depressed, lonely or insecure and feel like crying a lot. Feel angry and wonder why is this
happening to them. They always think that if problem is forever and wonder if it will ever stop. People
who frequently bully others are more likely to feel disconnected from school and dislike school. They
always get into fights, they vandalize property and leave school early. People who witnessed bullying
maybe afraid to attend school. Feel afraid or powerless to act and feel guilty. Some people that have
been bullied all their life decided to commit suicide because they don’t appreciate their life. Bullying is
so bad that it can end killing others.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if this is happening to you, tell yourself that it’s not your fault , and that it’s the
bullies who need to change , not you. Talk to someone you trust. Be persistent. We can stop bullying by
knowing how to handle it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we must be aware of this problem. Remember, bullying is everyone’s business.
Just be strong and keep your head up. Thank you for listening and let’s stop Bullying.
