Project: - ASCON (Army Static Switch for Communication Network)

Description:

Worked on Up gradation of Indian Army Communication Network ASCON phase-3 project for which a ISDN Switches
was planned consisting of Siemens Hipath 4500 series as access part of the network and ATM switches were
being installed for backbone of the network and integrated Redundant NMS at Delhi was provided for Smooth
management of whole network.

 Establishes user interfaces and backbone for Army Communication.

 Has overlay network consisting of OFC, Microwave and Satellites for redundancy.
 Deals with Voice, Data and Live video streaming as per Army requirement.
 ATM switch is used at the network side for networking at the user interface and ISDN switches are
used on the subscriber’s side.

Responsibility:

Providing 24x7 hrs technical support for the Implementation (Installation, Testing and Commissioning), operation &
maintenance of ASCON Project and for up gradation of sites as per customer’s requirement.

ISDN SWITCH (Siemens HIPATH 4500)

 Integration of Hipath with legacy switches by E1CAS, E1PRI connectivity.

 Taking error logs on daily basis.
 Tackling problems related to routings of calls, call congestions in the link.
 Implementation & up gradation of features like Hunt group, Hot line, Call forwarding, knocking override, PIN
Password Authentication etc.
 Up gradation & configuration of trunks as and when required by the customer for all sites.
 Upgadation of software & patches and taking backup of switches on regular basis.
 Trouble shooting by remotely diagnosis of nodes & to provide remedies to fix the existing problem.

ATM SWITCH

 To provide connectivity between legacy switch using ATM Circuit Emulation Services.
 Installation of Redundant NMS based at Delhi, consisting of Siemens EMS (Element Manager Service),
Siemens CDM (Cross Domain Manager).
 Worked on the Layer-3 routing using the BIAS (Broadband IP Access Server) card of ATM switch.
 Implementation of multi services like UFR, CE, LAN.
