TRAINEESHIPS
The term 3 program features on the front cover the first trainee for the Tamworth
Community College. Cherkira Rogers from Opportune Home Loans is currently
undertaking her Certificate III in Business Administration. Cherkira hopes to
complete the nationally recognised VET qualification this year and she will follow her
chosen pathway toward a Certificate IV in Business in 2010.

Funding for traineeships is available through the Department of Education and
Training (DET) for both existing workers and new entrant workers. Recognising the
skills of your workforce through traineeships or other forms of training and
recognition is beneficial to the skilling of Australia and the self satisfaction of your
employees that they have gained qualifications acknowledging the work that they
do. For additional information or staff eligibility please ring the College.

Charity Ride—Mountain Bike Bash


Pat is again riding to raise funds for the local
Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

The ride in 2009 is from Glen Innes to Tamworth


via Bundara, Walcha and Nundle and Pat will be
cycling for over 600km. Your organisation can
sponsor Pat for $250 or $500 and this will include
advertising on support vehicles and logos attached
to ride clothing or he also has $2.00 raffle tickets
available for purchase at the College.

6th Annual College Art Show


Maria Henry, Margaret Hemmings and Terese
Johnston will again be showing off the
wonderful art that the College students create.
The exhibition will be held at the College on
Friday 4th September. Art will be on display
from midday with the official opening of the
exhibition will be at 6:30pm.
