THESIS PROPOSAL:

A PROPOSED RELOCATION AND MODERNIZATION OF

EASTERN VISAYAS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE

This study aims to relocate and modernize the Eastern Visayas Regional
Medical Center to meet the health needs of the people of the entire Eastern Visayas as
well as the international standards. This project will improve quality health services to
the people of Eastern Visayas, ensure resiliency in times of disasters, enhance health
outcomes, and achieve equity in healthcare in the region.

The DOH proposed project involves the transfer of the hospital to a new safer
site and the expansion to 500-bed capacity, with five components: (1) site
development, (2) construction of hospital buildings, (3) acquisition of medical
equipment, (4) acquisition of IT hardware and software system and (5) establishment
of project management.

This project is one of the proposed interventions under the Yolanda

Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan to build back better the health facilities in
Eastern Visayas.

I hope that this proposal will gain your approval for my thesis work in the
fulfillment of my requirements in Architectural Design 9.
