We will: Introduce students to activities involving blindfolds that will develop their trust and

communication.

I will: participate in the blindfold activities as either the walker or a caller in the ‘Sherpa walk’

activity.

(2) Social development. During physical activity, the student develops positive self-management

and social skills needed to work independently and with others. The student is expected to:

(A) apply rules, procedures, and etiquette;

Equipment: blindfolds

Activity: Sherpa walk

 Students will be told they are going to have to trust each other and communicate without

words as we walk around campus blindfolded.

 Students will be allowed 5-8 minutes to come up with cues as a class for how they will

communicate without words.

 They must come up with cues for forward, back, left, right, as well as ones for situations

they may come across such as a big step, stairs down/up, etc.

 Half the students must decide between being the walkers and the callers.

 Blindfolded students (walkers) will line up in a straight line grabbing the shoulders of the

person in front of them.

-students who are NOT blindfolded (callers) will alternate as callers one by one. The others must

remain silent as they walk with the group and wait for their turn to be a caller.
