Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of workplace accidents on work productivity with a fault
tree analysis approach at PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai padang. This study uses quantitative and
qualitative analysis in descriptive form, with the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method. Data collection
is done by interview and observation. Data processing is carried out namely quantitative and
qualitative analysis. Measuring the work safety effort at PT. CMAP for the 2016-2018 work accident
frequency rate of 20.7; 19,5; 26.5. The saverity level of 2016-2018 was 108.7; 136.45; 267,5. The
results of the t-score survived in 2017-2018 at - 0.158; 0.9245 is interpreted as 2017 the situation
improves and in 2018 the situation deteriorates while the results of productivity measurement in 2016
are 0.99989, 2017 is 0.99986 and 2018 is 0.99973 The influence of workplace accidents on work

Introduction
The development of the industry in the field of furniture is growing rapidly in Indonesia. The
higher the use of technology used in the furniture industry, the greater the potential danger of
accidents, the handling and control of workplace accidents is required. (1, 2) Accidents occurring in
industry are the end result of a rule and unsafe working conditions.
PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai Padang is one company that needs to get attention about
workplace accidents because this company has a lot of human resources used in every process, so the
potential for major workplace accidents. Based on the description above, the researchers are
interested in conducting research on the Effect of Work Accidents on Work Productivity with the
Fault Tree Analysis Approach at Furniture Company PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai Padang.
Method
This research is a study conducted with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis in
descriptive form, with the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method as a research instrument. Data
collection by means of interview and observation methods. Data processing and data analysis carried
out is quantitative analysis by analyzing the results of work safety measures from the measurement of
the frequency of workplace accidents, the severity of workplace accidents and calculating safe T
values and qualitative analysis with the Fault Tree Analysis method
Results
as follows:
Table 1 Recapitulation of the Number of Lost Hours of Employees of Pure Light Andalas
Permai Padang in 2016-2018
In the measurement of work safety efforts, data is needed from the number of incidents of workplace
accidents, employee working hours, lost work hours of employees and lost workdays of employees in
the production section in 2016-2018 PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai. the data is the data needed
for measurement:
F = n × 1.000.000
The following is the result of measuring the frequency of workplace accidents that occurred in 2016-
2016 8 20,7
2017 7 19,5
2018 9 26,5
2. Measurement of Saverety / Occupational Severity Levels
S = H × 1.000.000
Where :
The following is the measurement of the saverity or severity of workplace accidents in 2016-2018
Safe T Score = F 2 - F 1
Where :
In measuring the T value safely, this F1 value is taken from the results of the previous year's
measurement, while for the F2 value taken from the results of measurements in the year to be
measured. Then the measurement data for the T value is obtained as follows:
Table 4 Data for Measurement of T Value Congratulations on PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas
Permai Padang Year 2016-2018
4. Productivity Measurements
The measurement of work productivity can be done after getting the results of the measurement
of work frequency level will be known the total number of hours lost, the number of hours worked,
and the level of severity. Work productivity measurements can be done by the formula:
Productivity:
Total employee work hours
Table 6 Productivity Measurement Data of PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai Padang Year
2016-2018
From the results of productivity measurement, get productivity in 2016, which is 0.99989, in
Before conducting a fault tree analysis, it can be known in advance the types of work accidents
that have occurred and the potential for work accidents that occur in the production to build fault
Discussion
Based on the results of research obtained from the measurement of the frequency of
workplace accidents in 2016-2018 at PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai can be seen that there was an
increase in the number of accidents in 2018. This was due to the negligence of the workers
Based on the results of research obtained from measurements of the level of saverity or
severity of workplace accidents in 2016-2018 at PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai can be seen that
there is an increase in the level of saverity or severity of workplace accidents every year. This is
caused by the increasing frequency of work accident events which can lead to increased lost days and
Based on the results of research conducted at PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai can be seen
that the frequency of workplace accidents in 2018 has increased marked by a positive value of
0.9245, so it can be concluded that the increasing number of lost days and employee lost hours in
2018.
The increase in lost days and loss of employment is caused by the increase in the incidence of
workplace accidents. The increase in the incidence of workplace accidents occurs due to a lack of
4. Work Productivity
is equal to 0.99986, there is a slight decrease in work productivity because many days are lost due to
2018 has decreased due to many lost days and hours lost by employees due to workplace accidents.
Work productivity can also be measured by calculating the number of employee working
hours which is reduced by the number of employee lost hours set as output, while the input is the
total hours worked in a period. Productivity measurements can be seen from the fewer accidents and
employees who do not enter both sick and without information, the smaller the working day is lost
Based on the results of the research that has been done, there is an influence of the number of
work accident events on work productivity. This is due to the increase in the number of workplace
accidents so that it can result in employee lost days and employee lost hours also increasing so that it
In constructing fault tree analysis, it can be known in advance the types of work accidents that
have occurred and the potential for work accidents that occur in the production to build fault trees by
Fault tree analysis can be determined using fault tree analysis symbols. In building a fault tree
Conclusion
1. The measurement results of the frequency of occupational accidents increased in 2018, namely
26.5 so that the resulting saverity level of 267.5 resulted in an increase in the number of employee
lost days with a measurement of the t-value of 2018 of 0.9245 indicating deteriorating conditions.
2. The causes of work accidents that occur at PT. Cahaya Murni Andalas Permai which is due to
human factors itself such as inadvertent labor when doing their work, not using personal protective
equipment while working, not paying attention to their safety while working.
3. The influence of workplace accidents on work productivity, because of the increasing number of
work accidents, the increasing number of days lost and hours lost by employees due to workplace
accidents.
