residence in the Tokyo Metropolitan area, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a conference where they agreed to implement a new partnership program in the digital field. Herewith, there are plans to embark upon collaborative research on AI technology besides suggesting mutual expansion of startups and human resources. Also, India which has a population of 1.3 billion, possesses enormous data and high expectations have been placed on the digital economy of both India and Japan which are using this data. Besides, with respect to the fact that Japan is stronger than before when it comes to hardware and India tends to be strong when it comes to software, so that both the countries are in mutual complementary ties, there is an idea to build new cooperative relations. Furthermore, in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad, the best Indian post-secondary educational institution for science, besides commencing research on robotics making use of AI, they are also eyeing the possibility of a cooperative industry of research and development of next-generation telecommunications [5G] which will be indispensable for things like loT and automatic-operation in the coming digital new age. While there are expectations for the promotion of India-Japan startup hub founded in Bangalore on September this year, there is an intention to continue to proceed with supporting mutual expansion of enterprises of both countries and introduction of human resources. Moreover, in this conversation, they agreed on the promotion of infrastructure cooperation like India’s high-speed rail adopting the Shinkansen system, harbours and roads, the commencement of formal negotiations on goods and service mutual sponsoring agreement (ACSA), and also the resumption of the currency exchange agreement as per which the authorities will lend funds of 75 billion dollars at times of financial crisis. Also, in the dialogue this time although details of agreement in the talk were featured on a grand-scale, on 28th before the day of the dialogue, Prime Minister Modi as Head of State, was invited for the first time to Prime Minister Abe’s holiday house (Yamanashi Prefecture, near Lake Kawaguchi), where they had dinner together. From this, both sides deepened their individual mutual trust and Japan appealed that from now on cooperative relationship with India should be stressed even further. The steady growth of Japan- India relationship is of course connected to the development of both countries but it is also expected to be connected to the prosperity and equilibrium of the India-Pacific region. From this it can be said that the bells of the dawn of economic development due to the solidified relationship of India and Japan rung loud and clear. Without missing the current flow, Japanese companies including startups are considering cooperative industries with the players of India, regardless of government or people, and want to bring forth new chances and promote cooperation.
