Known Issues, Limitations, and Workarounds

NVidia Geforce 9300

If a crash occurs while displaying reader images in ESP please make sure you have an
up-to-date driver for your video card. This occurred with an NVidia Geforce 9300 GE on
a 32-bit Windows 7 computer. It requires the video driver from the manufacturer
instead of the built-in driver from Microsoft.

HS-51 on Windows XP
The HS-51 Bluetooth drivers don’t always install when installing ESP. If you are
unable to communicate with the HS-51 through ESP use the following steps to install
the drivers manually:
1. Locate the driver files within the ‘Program Files\Microscan\Microscan
ESP\Drivers\MicroscanBluetoothDriver’directory
2. Run either the dpinst_x86.exe or dpinst_x64.exe (if running Win XP 64
bit).
3. Restart ESP.

Windows 10 Installation
10980: When installing ESP 6.6 on Windows 10, the following protection message
will pop up “Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running
this app might put your PC at risk”. Click on the More info link to proceed and then
click “Run anyway”, ESP will now install and run successfully.
