2020 METROBANK- MTAP-DEPED MATH CHALLENGE ELIMINATIONS

School Heads in both Private and Public Elementary and Secondary Schools
This Division

1. The Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI), the Mathematics Teachers Association of the
Philippines(MTAP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) will hold the 2020 Metrobank-
MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge ( MMC) from January to March 2020.
2. The 2020 METROBANK- MTAP – DEPED MATH CHALLENGE is implemented this
school year with the following objectives:
a. To awaken greater interest in mathematics among elementary and high school
students and teachers in both public and private schools all over the country;
b. To encourage the students to strive for excellence in mathematics;
c. To empower mathematical talents with awards and recognitions for them to serve
as models for the youth.

3. The Division Eliminations is scheduled on January 16, 2020 in the 13 different District
Testing Centers in the Division for Elementary and January 17, 2020 at a venue to be
announced later for Secondary.
4. Only those schools who registered in the online portal of the MMC are allowed to participate
in the Division Eliminations.
5. Attached herewith are the different assignments for the schools which have officially
registered in the online portal.
6. Those schools which were able to register in the online portal but whose names are not found
in the list may go to the nearest testing center near them as long as they will bring with them
the email reply of their online registration.
7. A Php 200.00 registration fee per school will be collected to defray the meals of the proctors/
examiners, chargeable to Math Club/ PTA funds.
8. In preparation for the said activity, there will be a meeting of District Math Coordinators/
Division Officers for both Elementary and Secondary on January 13, 2020, Monday, 2:00 PM
at the Division Training Center.
9. Widest dissemination of this memorandum is desired.
