Job Description

Job Title: Community Integration and Development Manager


Based at: Ewood Park Stadium, BB2 4JF. However, flexibility regarding location is required.
Reports to: Business and Management Consultant
Responsible for: N/A
Hours of work: 35 hours per week plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of
duties. This will involve evening and weekend work.
Contractual status: Permanent
1. Job purpose: To work closely with local (BAME focused) communities to create a platform for
engagement with the club and establish business links and partnerships to
generate new business opportunities.
2. Duties and  To be responsible for all BAME engagement activities and to have an
responsibilities: active role in contributing to and implementing the Club’s Inclusion
Strategy;
 Creating opportunities for members of the BAME community via
education, health, inclusion and sports participation;
 Engage young people within the local community using identified
programs to provide a platform for thoughts, feelings and opinions to be
heard;
 To market the club to local business communities whilst liaising with the
marketing and commercial teams;
 To be responsible for quality assurance across all inclusion activities;
 To be responsible for promotional and marketing material to local
businesses in relation to inclusion;
 To work closely with local faith centers (e.g. Churches, mosques,
temples etc.), associated faith leaders and local key stakeholders;
 To attend Commercial, Media and Marketing meetings and to lead on
BAME and inclusion initiatives;
 To promote the football club’s BAME strategy and programme with
local, regional and national media and press;
 To work alongside the team to create and populate a calendar of BAME
events and initiatives;
 To attract sponsors and partners to support BAME initiatives;
 To work closely with the Community Trust in relation to inclusion and
integration; and
 To work with the team to develop the Next Generation Stand.
3. Skills required:  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both
orally and in writing;
 To have a pleasant and approachable demeanor;
 The ability to work with the minimum of supervision;
 The ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating a willingness and ability
to perform all functions required of team members;
 Excellent people skills with the ability to motivate and inspire individuals and
organisations;
 Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines;
 Ability to set goals, monitor and evaluate performance;
 Creating thinking with the ability to seek new opportunities;

 Strong IT skills; and


 A second language which is prominent within the local area is desirable.
4. Knowledge  Good knowledge and understanding of local demographics, inter-faith
required: relations and the barriers and/or challenges minority groups face in our
society;
 An understanding of public, private and voluntary sector involvement in
addressing issues facing the BAME community;
 Knowledge of the football club and its history;
 Awareness of funding available to support BAME activities / Community
Integration;
 Knowledge of Safeguarding practices and procedures; and
 Knowledge and awareness of GDPR and handling sensitive data.
5. Qualifications  Educated to degree level in a relevant subject;
required:  FA Safeguarding (desirable); and
 Full UK driving licence (desirable)
DBS check required: Yes (basic)
