Event Management Roles
PRESENTATION MANAGER
• Lead and manage the Sport Presentation team
• Direct/cue the technical operators, stage management team and
announcers/talent as per the runsheet

• Direct/cue the Medal Ceremonies team for all Medal Ceremonies at their
sport

• Develop daily event documentation including daily runsheets and scripts


• Select music from the music database provided to tie in with the events at
their sport

• Ensure vision content is loaded by the Vision Playback Operator and all is
in order prior to the commencement of the session start

• Brief the Sport Presentation team prior to each session


• Send daily reports to the Sport Presentation Management team
• Main contact for Sport Competition, Venue Team and all other Functional
Areas at their venue
Event Management Roles
PRESENTATION ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER
• Works closely with the Sport Presentation • Responsible for executing Sport Presentation
Manager to develop event documentation activities around the field of play and in the
seating stands, as directed by the Sport
• Manage and liaise with the Sport Presentation Manager.
Presentation team members and other
Functional Areas on behalf of the Sport • Activities may include; live presenter
Presentation Manager (under the direction segments, crowd interactive segments,
of the Sport Presentation Manager) working with talent, VIP, athletes, etc

• Assist the Sport Presentation Manager with • Cue athlete entries  -­‐  following  cues  given  by  the  
directing/cueing the team Sport  Presenta8on  Manager  
Presenting Roles
ANNOUNCER / PRESENTER
• Announcer role - Work closely with the Sport Presentation Manager to
deliver generic Games wide announcements, sport specific
announcements, athlete introductions, medal ceremonies
announcements, etc live to the in-venue spectators

• Research information on upcoming events, athletes to watch, etc at


their sport

• Presenter role - perform live segments to camera to the in-venue


spectators. This may involve crowd interaction, interviews with guests,
fun and informative segments during pre-show, breaks during
competition and post show
Technical Roles
AUDIO OPERATOR
• Operate the Sport Presentation audio desk -
controlling all audio feeds and levels within
the venue

• Takes cues from the Sport Presentation


Manager

AUDIO ASSISTANT
• Operate the audio playback device - including
playback of national anthems for the Medal
Ceremonies

• Assist the Audio Operator


• Takes cues from the Sport Presentation Manager
Technical Roles
COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR
• Manage distribution and collection of 2-way
radios for the Sport Presentation team
• Liaise with and assist the experienced roving
Communications technicians team to
troubleshoot and manage the sport
Presentation Communications system within a
venue

CAMERA OPERATOR
• Operate the Sport Presentation camera to take a
live feed from live segments to the videoboard
in-venue during pre-show, post show and breaks
in competition
• Work with a live presenter
• Take cues from the Video Desk Operator and/or
Sport Presentation Manager
Technical Roles
VIDEO DESK OPERATOR VIDEO PLAYBACK OPERATOR
• Operate the video desk - switching between • Operate the video playback device - sending

Training
WORKSHOPS
• Training workshops and modules will be conducted by Industry
Professionals

• A full training module outline will be provided to the institutions in


advance of the training workshops

• Training manuals will be provided to the Interns; information will


include roles and responsibilities, key contacts, runsheets, scripts,
sport specific information, among other key aspects

• Approximately six trainees to every industry professional during the


training sessions

• Training sessions take place over 1 - 3 days based on the role

Responsibilities: operation of playback, operation of music, Communciations structure: work through schecmatics, system

Showcall: taking direction & cues from Sport Presentation Manager operator
Audio schematics: discussion of audio systems in venues, signal Broadcast comms: where they come from, who you speak to
flow plans, integration of vision audio feeds, how braodcast becomes about getting a feed
involved (send / receive) Group work: setting up of two-way comms each day, maintenance
Tricks of the trade: levels & climaxes, music ducks under and cleaning of comms each day, troubleshooting issues

Group work: console operation, set up and troubleshooting of Module 10: Vision Operator in Sport
common problems Responsibilities: components that make up a vision programme
(TVCs, highlights reels, camera feeds, broadcast feeds, grapgics

On field audio: wireless microphones (signal strength / exclusion schematic
