The End Of Poverty

When I first heard about the title, I was disappointed because it sounds like it was so
dull that I will just feel very lonely. Poverty is the significant lack of money or poorness.
Just like in the video in Brazil, there is a family whose husband has been unemployed
for 5 years. He now survive, he’s selling bottles of mineral water in the streets and for
1real each ( $0.50). He used to have a job delivery gas to help their family and to eat
with his family. And they lost their baby girl for only 9 months because they had no
money to buy medicine. But until that incident, even when they are poor they work hard
for their children and have something to eat. Now the Luciana Family live in a one room
basement with sanitation and they sleep on the floor with their children. Then during the
16th century almost all of the continents are connected together by brutal european
domination because the capitalist system and modern times started at the moment of
the conquest the colonization. In the 16th century, the Maasai land in Kenya, The
maasai people and their livelihood depends on rousing animals livestock likes cows,
goats, sheep and they don’t know if any other way of living. They said “ even before the
colonial power came and ruled kenya, they’re living on their land. But the Maasai were
forced out of the Kinargo Valley to the Rift Valley where we now live, but they came
back in their land because the land were belong of Maasai People. Those land was
given to powerful people in the government. At the end of colonial times the white 1%
owned about 50% of the arable land. And the San Pablo State in Brazil, most people
work for their families. They wake up at 1 am to go to work even though they are sick for
the sake of their family. Even though they are poor they do it for their family. In the
village of Malawi in Africa is very impoverished live in devastation from Aids, Malaria,
and other diseases and have no medicine because they barely live on a dollar a day.
Malawi is considered to be in the lowest level of economic development and hasn’t even
begun to climb the first rung on the ladder to economic well being. There are 1.5 billion
in Bangladesh and while it isn’t as impoverished as Malawi it is still living in poverty. In
Bangladesh, females labor in sweatshops 12 hours a day and there are micro- finaced
and loan. Because of these opportunities they are considered to have climbed the first
rung on the ladder of economic development. Then china has been successful in
innovation, while there are still millions in china living in poverty, many parts are
becoming very developed. Then after 1820, population and economic growth began to
really take off but at different rates for different countries. Todays inequality is as
follows: one sixth of population lives in extreme poverty, two- thirds are middle income
status, and one-sixth lives in high income. Certainly, along with great economic success
came inequality, racism, and exploitation of those in poverty. Just like the countries
Potasi, Bolivi, and others revolved in the video they are also experiencing poverty. I
realized that monopoly is the result of nothing but greed; the desire to be the most
powerful and the act of stepping on those you can, especially since the cost one’s new
colony is the debt of the ever-struggling country. Colonizers only cored about
themselves and how they can eat move land, people and resources. Just like many
others who suffered, struggled to survive by means of succumbing to abusive taxing
policies, which were levied on lands they owned to begin with. And until now, people in
Kenya, Brazil and many other affected areas are paying for the debt they never had to
have. I now also understand how colonialism has caused poorer countries to be the
source of law materials, and the rich countries. This is only possible due to the fact that
countries in debt are actually financing those who have caused them that situation. The
video explains, “ No wonder people there are either dead or dying of hunger. It is a
devastating statistics, but it is as real it gets. But for me, As a Student I would be helpful
in our journey to reduce poverty. When we consider the families in poor countries, they
have at least six or seven kids. But those kids do not have a proper health or the
parents cannot provide proper education for them, and they cannot provide good foods
filled with suitable nutrients to their kids due to lack of wealth and then the kids will be in
good health and their brains will be in a better condition to get a proper education.
Because of that their healthiness decreases by a considerable. So taking necessary
steps to develop health and education sectors in these countries is a good way to
reduce poverty. So firstly, we have to develop services for pregnant women of those
countries and provide them good foods to keep the babies in good health. Encouraging
people who have volunteered to provide facilities such as pure water, foods filled with
nutrients, living places to poor people and who conducting charity services to develop
the lives of them. By offering special rewards and admiring them in various ways would
be a good way to increase the number of voluntary workers. Because poverty is a
deadly issue that’s killing our population slowly. Poverty has become a great issue in
our world. The most common fact which we can realize when we consider on
information about poverty is that poverty is mostly occuring in developing countries. The
reasons for poverty are History, War and Political Instability. And so I believe that my
opinions and suggestion would be a good health to conclude poverty and this video I
watch is for all of us and for us to know just how difficult life is.
