REINSTALLATION OF DETACHED MOORING BUOY NO. 3

On the 04th October 2018, prior to start of work, survey team undertake EHS
Orientation/briefing and discussion which aims to ensure utmost safe work practices,
protect workers, health and preserves environment.
The SUBSEA team conducted visual perimeter survey of site location prior to
commencement of magnetometer survey for safety approach and navigation. As per
info from the client, the detached mooring buoy no. 3 was found on the shoreline after
the typhoon _____wherein the pad-eye of buoy shell plate was tear-off/damaged.
The magnetometer survey was carried out to detect the location of the stud link chain
below the seabed. The grid layout of survey line was every five (5) meters interval for
accurate data acquisition. In addition, all existing structures and mooring buoys
position were recorded using GPS.
Magnetometer survey raw data gathered were processed and analyzed. The unnecessary
data were filtered to get the highest probability in locating the target (stud link chain).
Once processed, surveyor plot and trace the possible location of the stud link chain
using differential GPS. Survey team deployed a marker buoy on the mark out area, after
initial dive of divers they don’t find any stud link exposed on the sea bed, so they
proceed for using the probing rod in order to detect the buried stud link chain, after
several dives, with the aid of probing rod divers confirmed that the stud link chain was
on the mark out area which was buried approximately 500mm. A temporary marker
buoy was connected on the stud link chain after verification. The chain location data
was properly turned over by the survey team to the diving team for recovery and
reinstallation works. Please refer to Annex I – Photo No. 4 to 8 and to enclose Magnetometer
Survey Drawing (Total Magnetic Field).

REINSTALLATION OF DETACHED MOORING BUOY NO. 3
AND REPLACEMENT OF OLD SWIVEL
AT BAUANG DIESEL POWER PLANT, BAUANG, LA UNION
Dredging activity was proceeded in order to expose the buried chain using the water
jetting equipment. It took 1 day to expose the stud link chain, launching and
reinstallation of the newly painted mooring buoy 3 was completed on the following day
(Newly paint mooring buoy no. 3 by yellow and black paint).
On the other hand, during the underwater installation, divers noted that the existing
swivel is not working. Thus, the situation was raised to the client for further actions. As
per recommendation of the client, replacement of the not working swivel should be
done. With that, old swivel on the storage area was assisted and inspected for the
replacement on the existing. Prior to completion of the underwater survey, divers
proceed on the replacement of existing swivel with the supplied old swivel from the
client. Once connected, divers secured and carried out underwater tack welding of
shackles lock pin and nut. Post photograph of the re-installed mooring buoy was taken.
Please refer to Annex I – Photo No. 5 to 20.
Once completed, divers reported to the client authorized representative on site for
turnover. Housekeeping and demobilization of the marine equipment and personnel
was done.
This report is a factual statement work undertaken and is issued without prejudice.
