1. Configuration Program
To create a configuration open the program FT3000.exe that comes on the FT3000 CD. The program starts
with the following window.
The type and number of modules with their corresponding addresses must first be defined or a connected
rack can be interrogated.
Module Construction:

SpeedMonitorInputA_select Select A – binary coded decimal selection of limit to test
SpeedMonitorInputB_select Select B – binary coded decimal selection of limit to test
UnderOver_Select Selection of upper or lower Test Values
TestOn Switches Test Mode on
To be able to implement a test via binary inputs, one of the <SpeedMonitorInputX_Select> must be used.
For this purpose the non isolated B2 may be connected to 0V (Logic „1“) and <SpeedMonitorInputA_Select>
assigned to B2 thereby automatically selecting Limit 1 to test. Assigning and activating
SpeedMonitorInputB_select would then switch to testing Limit 3.
2 Binary inputs may also be connected together and brought out as <TestOn>. In the Configuration
<TestOn> and <SpeedMonitorInputA_Select> must then be selected.
If UnderOver_Select is not used then the lower test value is always selected. It is therefore recommended to
enter the same test value into <Test Values> Upper and Lower for over speed testing.
If the configuration software is to be used to execute FT3000 Commands then binary inputs cannot be
assigned in the Mask shown above.
2.8 Switches
Frequency Measurement:
Each of the 3 Measurement inputs
can be assigned via software to 1 of
5 possible signals:
- none
- F1 (= Sensor signal)
- F2
- F3
- F4 (= Test frequency)
The measured values are processed
by the uP and are then available as
3 floating comma values:
- AbsolutA
- AbsolutB
- AbsolutC
Function Output:
The following functions can be realized using measured values <AbsolutA>, <AbsolutB> & <AbsolutC>:
Majority value of A, B und C: The average of the 2 from 3 measured values that
MajorVoteABC
exhibit the smallest difference is calculated
MaxABC Max value A, B and C: Max value of 3 Measured values is selected.
MinABC Min value A, B and C: Min value of 3 Measured values is selected.
SigmaABC Average of A,B and C
SigmaAB Average of A and B
SigmaBC Average of B and C
SigmaCA Average of A and C

may be entered. The
Machine Factor is then
automatically calculated:
M = Pulses per rev / 60.

processor to establish a new
measured value.
Speed Deviation:

□ Static
□ Dynamic
□ 3 of 3
(Monitor 2 not
used)
- Dynamic: Monitoring of sensor measured values (Speed Deviation). NB: Should 2 sensors fail such
that both associated channels read zero then they would be taken to be correct. However,
starting with all channels healthy, the first dynamic fault would be registered.
- 3 of 3: Monitoring of sensor measured values. Is the difference of just one sensor value > Speed
Deviation then there is no difference to the setting Dynamic. However, if 2 sensors exhibit a
dynamic error then the FTFU registers Sensor Monitor Fault.
Range:
Rising or falling
characteristics as well as
narrow ranges may be set

Set Point:
Pulses:
When configured as Speed Monitor, Limits 1 to 3 can be tested with individual test frequencies. Upper and
Lower limit values are available for each Limit. The test frequencies must be min 0.5% above the upper set
point and min 0.5% below the lower set point. (Limit tolerance 0.1% + Test frequency tolerance 0.4%)
For further information on using test frequencies see 2.7 Binary Inputs.
Individual Configuration and Process Parameters are permanently assigned an access level:
Selection Description
H0 - Process 0 Absolute - %, Process Name
H1 - Process 1 Limit_High, Limit_Low, Speed Monitor_Pulses, Analog_Full, Analog_Zero,
Analog Range, Test_Over, Test_Under, Machine Factor or Pulses per rev, Messages
H2 - Process 2 Machine Factor, Nominal Speed, Pulses per rev, FixTime, Number of Measurements
H3 - Config 0 Limit Mode, LED Mode, Config Name
H4 - Config 1 All Config Parameters (Exceptions: H3 - Config 0 and H5 - Config 2)
H5 - Config 2 Module Installation Byte
H6 - Service Service Parameters, Calibration
H7 - FT3000 Commands (ResetMaxMem, LampTest, etc.)
Commands
The access levels can be separately enabled or blocked for the OEM and End User.
To change Parameter Enable for the Customer (EndUser) the OEM password is needed.
To change Parameter Enable for the OEM (User) the Manufacturer password (Factory) is needed. The
Manufacturer Password also allows Parameter Enable for the End User.
The password must be entered each time a parameter is changed, whereby only changes authorized by the
password level will be permitted.
Once a password is accepted then further parameter changes permitted by that password level can be made
until the configuration file is saved or written to the FT3000. After that the password will need to be re-
entered to make changes.
