1.0 OBJECTIVE

This method of statement covers the requirement to carry out a survey work at PMU
132kV Bukit Serdang GIS.

2.0 REFERENCE

This method statement shall be read together with the following document:-

• TNB Technical Specification

• Site Layout Plan
• Site Safety Plan

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

KBK Sdn Bhd shall execute a survey works at site. The consultant, PZE shall do the
supervision and verification in order to ensure the works are done in accordance to the
required specification.

4.0 MANPOWER, PLANT, MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT

4.1 General equipment

• Topcon total station ES-105
• Single Prism Target
• Aluminum Tripod ME-1
• Aluminium Ranging Pole
• Measurement Tape for 3.0m and 30.0m

4.2 Supervisors and skilled & unskilled workforce.

5.0 SEQUENCE OF WORKS / PROCEDURES

5.1. Planimetric Control

A survey in which a sequence of bearing and distance of lines between point

on the ground are obtained from field measurement and used in determining
position of the point. Generally conducted using survey total station and target
prism, also called traverse.

A minimum of two survey station would be establish from boundary stone. The
data would then be post process to give coordinate. (Easting & Northing)

The maximum error between survey control station would not exceed 1 part in
20000 in distances exceeding 200m. for shorter distances, the maximum error
would not exceed + 10mm

5.2. Level Control

Height control would be established by closed double run levelling using either
convenient bench mark, precise levelling point or the value of one of the
survey stations.

5.3. Detail Observation

All survey observation would be made with Topcon total station ES-105,
Detail recorded would be
• Building outline at ground level with ridge and eave level noted
• Boundaries features with type and levels of top noted
• Trees with trunk diameter and spread shown to scale with height and
species noted
• Spot height at nominal 5m grid as require and at any significant change
in level contour at 0.5m vertical interval
• Service cover shown to scale with cover level
• Invert level and type noted
• Overhead detail including service cables
• Other hard detail ex wall, step, channel. Road

Detail would be recorded such that the plan position of any well-defined point
of detail should be correct to within 0.3 mm rsme at the plan scale when
checked from the nearest survey station

Nominal surveys scale of information provide would be 1: 100

5.4. Downloading and Processing

Data would be downloaded into CDS ( civil design survey ). A large proportion
data editing would be carried out using CDS before exporting data to
AutoCAD. For final editing and production of finish drawing.

Co-ordinate would be in meter in Cassini Grid, while level would be in meter

above MSL datum. The surveys drawing would be merged with digital
mapping to provide context and the map data would be annotated with house
name, ridge and eave height of building neighbouring at site.

6.0 ENVIRONMENTAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENT

6.1 QUALITY ISSUES

• Boundaries demarcation required to ensure no double handling or trespassing to
others people land.
• View inspection required during the process of erection hoarding.
• Regular inspection to be carried out by weekly basis to ensure the hoarding in good
condition.

• All soft spots or holes shall be identified and barricade if necessary.
• The site shall be kept clear of unnecessary obstruction.
• First aid kit boxes will be provided at site office.
• During raining, no erection hoarding activities are allowed to work.
