COURSE INFORMATION
1. Course Number : GE 14
2. Course Name : Technical Writing
3. Course Description : This course is designed to respond to the need of students to gain
proficiency in the use of the English language in order to communicate
thoughts and ideas effectively through technical reports. It is intended
to help students be conscious of the correct production of reports
necessary in their fields.
4. Pre-requisite : None
5. Co-requisite : None
6. Credit : 3.0 units
7. Class schedule : 6 hours per week

*Final assessment will be a comprehensive examination (from first topic to the last) in a Multiple
Choice Questions
writing.
This will also serve as an assessment of your writing skills in preparation of the
upcoming lessons.
The class will be divided into 5 clusters. Each cluster will be given a topic for the
essay, based from the lessons that were discussed.
Based on the assigned topic, individuals from each cluster must write an
independent essay.
Essay must contain at least 3 paragraphs, consisting of the introduction, body, and
conclusion, with each paragraph containing 3-5 sentences.
You are given 2 days to complete the task and pass it before the deadline.
Rubrics are as follows:

2. Grammar and Mechanics (15 points)
3. Depth of Understanding (20 points)
Second Part 2: Module 3-6 Correcting The purpose of this task is for you to effectively apply correct grammar and

(30% of the exam) The class will be divided into groups with 5 members each.
A technical report sample shall be presented in front, containing errors.
You are expected to pinpoint the errors and rewrite the technical report.
Each group should present their written output in front of class in manila paper,
cartolina, or LCD.
