I am the attorney that is representing your son, Jose Julian Albarenga Lopez in his
Immigration case in Atlanta, Georgia.
Your son could be eligible to obtain permanent residence in the United States. In order to obtain
permanent residence, several things must occur: First, we must demonstrate to a Juvenile Court
Judge here in Georgia that it does not suit him to return to Honduras. Second, we must explain to
the Judge that you, as his parents, cannot properly care for him and staying in the United States
with his aunt Julia Albarenga Fuentes, is on his best interest.
Please understand that through these procedures, we are essentially separating the legal
relationship between you and him. You continue to remain his biological parents and always will
be. But for purposes of immigration here in the United States and for the laws of Immigration,
you will no longer be considered to be his parents. He will not be able to petition for you in the
future.
