IMS Unison University Dehradun, a constituent of Unison Group has made fast
strides in the horizon of education as a premier educational and research University.

SCHOOL OF LAW
School of Law is making fast strides in the horizon of legal education. It offers
BALLB (Hons.), BBALLB (Hons.), LLM. & Ph.D programs. Ever since its
inception, School of Law has set up a sublime tradition of organizing meaningful &
constructive academic programs in the pursuit of imparting quality legal education.
Pragyaan: Journal of Law, a double blind peer reviewed journal published bi-
annually by the School of Law is one more feather to its cap which bears testimony to
the fact of its commitment for the cause of legal research. The academia which
comprises a blend of highly qualified professionals & academicians is making every
effort to perch this School of Law on a higher pedestal of academic learning &
research.

The Competition is open for students pursuing three/ five-year LL.B. Degree Course
from recognized Law College /University in India, subject to fulfillment of the
registration formalities.
Each team shall consist of maximum two members – one playing the role of a
mediator and the other of a Advocate. All participants are mandatorily required to
carry their University/College ID Cards during the competition. Maximum 2 teams
from a University/ College can participate in the competition. The registration is on a
first come first serve basis. The registration shall be open for the first 12 teams,
followed by which the registration shall be closed. In case any team backs out, the
13th team to register shall be taken into account.
III. REGISTRATION
The decision of organizing committee shall be final and binding on all the teams

VI. Time-Slots
I. Preliminary Round: 30 minutes
II. Semi-Final Round: 45 minutes
III. Final Round: 60 minutes
The participating teams are expected to adhere to the time limit in every circumstance.
The Mediation Period :
The first 25 minutes in the Preliminary Round and 40 minutes in Semi-Final round and
55 minutes in Final Round are devoted for general caucus as well as private caucus on
the discretion of the mediator. During the mediation period and post-mediation
period, the teams may use Bare Acts, notes and other materials.
Post Mediation Period:
The remaining time from the total time as specified above will be for post-mediation
period i.e. the last 5 minutes in all the respective rounds are devoted for post
mediation. During the post-mediation period, the participants may either talk to each
other loudly enough to be overheard by the judges, or dictate a file memorandum on
the interview, or both.
VII. SUBJECTS ENCOMPASSED:
All the Problems shall be based on either of the subjects, solely or in combination
therewith:
I. Contract Law
II. Criminal Law
III. Family Law
IV. Law of Torts
V. Constitutional Law
VI. Civil Law
VII. Commercial Law
The participants are expected to have knowledge of other ancillary laws and
procedures.
VIII. DRESS CODE
The Dress Code shall be Formals as below.
Female(s): White Shirt, Black Trouser and Black Tie along with Black Blazer and
Black Shoes.
Male(s): White Shirt and Black Trouser along with Black Tie, Black Blazer and Black
Shoes. Non adherence to dress code shall attract penalty
IX. AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES
Categories of Awards:
• Best Team-Winner's Trophy, Cash Prize & Certificate of Merit
• Runner's up Team -Runner's up Trophy, Cash Prize-& Certificate of Merit
• Best Mediator -Best Mediator Trophy, Cash Prize & Certificate of Merit
• Best Advocate -Best Advocate Trophy, Cash Prize & Certificate of Merit
X. FOOD
The Food will be provided by the Organizer which include Breakfast & Lunch on 28th
January 2020 and Breakfast & Lunch on 29th January 2020 in IMS Unison University
Campus.
XI. ACCOMODATION
The have to make own stay arrangement however the organizing committee will
notify certain hotel where the participants can stay at subsidized rates.
Note: In case of any dispute, the decision of the Organizing Committee shall be
final and binding.
