Teaching Philosophy
A compassionate, creative and learner-oriented teacher that is committed to ensuring hands-on, interactive,
memorable learning experiences. Ensures the success of each student by adapting assessment, instruction, and
encouragement based on the individual learner. Equally effective whether performing independently or as a
member of a teaching team.

Participated in Teachers Across Borders: Germany; a ten-week exchange in
Hamburg, Germany in order to gain experience volunteer teaching in the

Assists youth involved with the criminal justice system, with assistance attending court
for emotional support, follow up on their court orders, and mentorship of my youth
throughout their processes
Discusses the conditions of an order with the youth in layman’s terms to ensure that
they understand what is expected of them
Attends scheduled court dates and court-ordered appointments with the youth
Engages with the youth and their family through regular communication, check-ins,
and meetings
Organizes pro-social activities with the youth on a weekly basis
Supports youth to meet the agreed-upon mentorship goals throughout the mentorship
