8. PROPOSED CHANGE/ADDITIONAL IN PROGRAM & SLOTS


Academic Track –Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM)
9. JUSTIFICATION
 Based on the recent survey conducted among Grade 10 students of this School year,
there are 50 incoming SHS who intend to enroll in ABM. 3 incoming SHS who intend to
enroll in the school are from other schools.

 There is no other school in the area (western part of Solana) to offer the said
Track/strand (ABM). The distance of the school (Andarayan National High School)
which is located at Andarayan South, Solana, Cagayan offering said strand in the nearby
is 20 kilometers away from the nearest feeder barangay (Gadu) of Gadu National High
School.

 San Vicente Institute located at Centro, Solana, Cagayan offers ABM. Although the road
is accessible in the area, there is scarcity of transportation especially in the afternoon
when transportation is only available until 4:00 p.m.

10. WILL THERE BE CHANGES IN PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS?

a. SLOTS- Yes
There are 50 students who intend to enroll in the propose Track/strand (ABM).
There will be 214 incoming grade 12 who will be enrolling in the existing Academic
Strands; 44- Science and Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), 63 – General
Academic Strand (GAS), and 107- Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)

b. CLASSROOM-Yes
There are still two available classrooms to accommodate incoming SHS students for
the additional track

c. FACILITIES-Yes
There are existing tables and there are monoblack chairs available in the school.

d. TEACHERS-Yes
There is a need for additional teachers to handle additional classes with
specializations aligned to the SHS curriculum.

e. PARTNERSHIP-Yes
There is existing established partnership and linkages to the private like FICOBank
Solana and public offices.

11. HOW WILL YOU ADDRESS CHANGE IN THE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS?

a. SLOTS
Considering the survey conducted by the school, and after a careful study of the reasons
stated in the justification, it was found out that there is a need for Gadu National High School to
add Academic Track, particularly ABM to cater to the needs and interests of the incoming Grade
11 students.
Based on the feedback gathered by the GNHS- SHS advocacy team there is an urgent
request from the students, parents and the community to offer academic track as an answer to the
needs of the learners whose interest is on Academic. And since most of the learners’ academic
interest is on business education and management based on the recently conducted CGAP, ABM
is the strand which is fitted to their interest.

b. CLASSROOM
Other than the 4 available SHS classroom which can be used by the incoming SHS students
of the requested additional track, there are incoming classrooms and 4 temporary shelters which
can cater 40 persons each will be available if there will be a need for additional rooms.

c. FACILITIES
Other than the available chairs in the school, there are 150 chairs in barangay Gadu which
can also be used by the students. The school will also need available facilities such as computers,
projectors or television sets for the SHS. However, these facilities are existing in JHS, which the
SHS can use while the school is looking for resources for these needs.

d. TEACHERS
Some of the Junior High School teachers can teach the specialized subjects since they are graduates of
Business Adminstration. Moreover, SHS Mathematics teachers can still teacher the other specialized
subjects of ABM.
e. PARTNERSHIP
Strengthen linkages with stakeholders; visit offices /establishments and conduct dialogue for
possible partnership.
12. CONSIDERATION OF THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL FURNITURE
There are available school and barangay furniture to back up the opening of ABM.

13. IS THE PROPOSED CHANGE/ADDITION ALIGNED TO THE DIVISION SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
PLAN?
Yes. ABM is a strand of the Academic track.

14. ARE THE RESOURCES SUFFICIENT TO SUPPORT THE CHANGE?


a. SLOTS- YES

b. CLASSROOM-YES

c. FACILITIES-NO. However, the SHS can use the existing facilities of the JHS.

d. TEACHERS-NO. However, the JHS teachers including the school head can handle the
additional subjects.

e. PARTNERSHIP-YES
