Checklist upon arrival

Welcome to Linköping University (LiU)! Use this checklist to get started at LiU.

Within the first days

• Visit the International Office

Visit the International Office (IO) to register your arrival. The International Office is located in
Studenthuset on Campus Valla. If you have been assigned accommodation through LiU, you
will also receive your keys here.

• Activate your LiU-ID at Info Centre

Get the activation key to your LiU-ID from Info Centre (located in Studenthuset) and follow
the instructions. By activating the LiU-ID, you will gain access to all student services such as
the free WIFI, the e-learning platform Lisam, the Student Portal etc.

• Upload portrait image at MinIT

When you have activated your LiU-ID you can upload a portrait image at MinIT. To be
prepared, you can take a photo in advance with your mobile phone. It should be a close-up
colour photo with light background.

• Watch the introduction film.

• Attend your Orientation Programme - mandatory

LiU will welcome you officially and you will meet your faculty coordinator, your main
academic contact during your stay here. Detailed information is sent out by your Faculty.

Within the first week

• Pick up your LiU-card at Info Centre

The LiU-card gives you access to buildings on Campus and is also a library card and
copy/print card. Bring a valid ID, preferably a passport. To collect your LiU-card you must
have uploaded a portrait image at MinIT. You can pick up your LiU-card the day after you
activated your LiU-id and uploaded your photo.

• Check your Lisam account

Log in to the e-learning platform Lisam with your LiU-ID in order to check your e-mail, find
your course spaces and more. All study-related information will be communicated to your LiU
e-mail account. Sign in with your LiU-ID and chosen password. From Lisam you can also
reach the Student portal. By logging in to the Student Portal you can register for your
courses, sign up for exams, apply for courses, see your study results and apply for degree
certificates and transcripts.
 • Register for courses and exams
You must register for all planned courses in the Student Portal. You must also register for
exams in advance. If you have any problems registering, please contact Info Centre. Also,
check your courses timetable individually in TimeEdit. For more information regarding
exams read LiU Examination Guide.

• Register your Swedish address, phone number and LiU e-mail in the
Student Portal
This will ensure you have access to the library services.
