Dear Members,
I want to thank everyone who attended Our Annual Meeting Sunday. I enjoy the input from our
Club Officers members. This is very important and to keep everyone informed on our plans for the year.

catered by Hanna’s restaurant which is under new management by Chef Michael Kassouf, a former
Ladies Auxiliary kitchen staff of 20 years at the restaurant. Congratulations to John Hanna on his retirement.

We are now into the New Year and your “Club” is getting busy with all types of entertainment and sports events
for our members, so keep track of the club calendar and the emails that are sent out weekly. For those LAC
newsletter ad subscribers who haven’t sent in their payment for this year, please do so ASAP so that we can fill
all the ad spaces in each newsletter. For those who have submitted payment –thank you, thank you – you help to
make our job easier.
“WE NEED YOUR INPUT”, with the rising costs of producing the monthly newsletter it is starting to take a toll
on the club’s treasury. Printing costs are going up, as well as the cost of postage for the printed copies that are
sent to your homes. With this in mind we would like your opinions on:
1. Stop the printed copies of the newsletter and produce only the digital version.
2. Produce a printed copy periodically during the year and keep the digital copy monthly.
3. Or any variation of the above as well as any other suggestions you might have.
4. Stop the newsletter altogether.

Member News
The Annual Membership Meeting was held on Sunday, January 26th at the Club. Annual dues were collected, and
yearly reports/updates were given. Action taken; yearly dues were increased from $225 to $250 by majority vote
to take effect in 2021, newly elected of officers for the Ladies Auxiliary were introduced (see the list in LAX
President’s newsletter column). Both meetings were followed by a Hanna’s Restaurant meal enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to the new owner, Michele, for a job well done.
On a special note the Pasta Night Guys would like to thank all of our members and guests for their loyal support
over the past few years. Without their support new equipment and utensils could not have been purchased for the
Club’s kitchen. The latest acquisitions included two deluxe chaffing dishes with revolving attached hoods, as well
as a buss cart for serving as well as cleaning up after meals, and oven trays in two sizes for baking and cooking.
Finally, with great appreciation the Pasta Night Guys would like to thank Ray Asmar Sr. for the generous
donation to the Pasta Night Fund for Kitchen Improvement. His generosity will provide some significant upgrades
to our kitchen’s equipment and efficiency.
Congratulations to Eric Gleissner the latest member to join the club as of Feb. 4th. He was nominated by Shay
Nagarsheth, He lives in Danbury and is related to the Buzaid family.
Health and Welfare:
Please keep in your prayers our ill members and/or their family members and wishing them speedy recovery,
specially Elie Karam, Ray Klinger and Dennis Ramey. Notify Pres. Mike Caravakis, whenever a member falls
seriously ill by sending an email to caravakis@aol.com.

LADIES AUXILIARY NEWS by Pres. Nada Zarrini

It was exciting to see such a great turnout at the annual meeting in January this year. We welcomed our new
member: Carmen Carfania.
Thank you to Hanna’s Restaurant and Chef Michel for preparing and serving a wonderful meal, truly appreciate
breaking break with all the LAC members in attendance.
Special Thank You to the outgoing Board Members: Betty Najm President; Victoria Beylouni, Vice President;
Randa Antous, Treasurer and Stacy Glynn Hardway, Secretary. Great job!
We welcome our new Board Members: Nada Zarrini, President; Jennifer George, Vice President; Toni Glynn,
Treasurer and Mary Hajj, Secretary. We look forward to working together with all the members to enrich and
help our community as well as support the needy in Lebanon during these trying times and turmoil.
The Holiday Luncheon for the Ladies was held at Black Angus Steak & Seafood. Thank you Randa Antous for
chairing this wonderful event. Good food, great company!
The next LAX meeting will be held on Tuesday February 25th, 2020 at 7:00, preceded by a Dinner at 6:30pm
provided by Mrs. Josephine Nassif and Mrs. Randa Antous. Many Thanks!
We will setup the meeting calendar for the year, as well as upcoming Events and Fundraisers, during this meeting.
