“VERBS”
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

PART 1
At this point of time let me show you a video clip. Just take a
look at this.

Yes, _____. They form the corn, peel the corn and pop the corn.

These words are called ACTION WORDS or VERBS.

PART 2
Now, let’s have a game.
I will group you into four. Just stay in a row where you are right
now and that would be your group.
1st row – 1st group
2nd row – 2nd group
3rd row – 3rd group
4th row – 4th group

Each group will receive an envelope that contains action


words.

As I show to you the picture, each group will


raise their card of action words that corresponds to the picture.
The first group who raises the card with the correct answers
gains a point.

Are you ready? Yes, sir!


Okay, let’s start! (pupils will raise their answers)

Let’s give them a big hand.

B. EXPLORATION
So now let us learn more about action words or Verbs as we
do an activity.

Just stay in the group.


But before we proceed to our activity choose your leader.

Since you have a group leader the leader will appoint the
following roles.
 Co-leader
 Secretary
 Reporter
 Time keeper
 Desk organizer
 Noise captain
Each group will receive their activity materials.
All you have to do is to follow what are stated in your activity
card. I will only give you ten minutes to finish your work.
Afterwards the reporter of each group present their work to
the class.

 Action verbs, also called dynamic verbs, express


an action whether it be physical or mental.

 An action verb can express something that a


person, animal or even object can do.

then you will make a sentence about picture.
