1. PRODUCTS SPECI FI CATI ONS


1.1 Prime Coat
Surface-tolerant, high solids polyamine cured epoxy-based primer/topcoat which may be applied in
high film thickness. Product shall be a part of complete system which is certified not to spread surface
flames.
The temperature of the substrate should be minimum of 100C and maxi mum 30C above dew point of
the air, temperature and relative humidity measured in the vi cinity of the substrate. When used in
confined spaces, good ventilation is necessary. Do not use heated air until the solvents have
evaporated from the paint film to avoid surface dryi ng and solvent entrapment. The paint should not
be exposed to mechanical wear before being fully cured.
1.2 Top Coat
Polyurethane with excellent gloss and color retention.
All other details same as above except temperature of the substrate should be minimum of 00C and
maxi mum 30C above dew point of the air.
2. SURFACE PREPARATI ON AS PER I SO 8504 STANDARD REFERENCE
Sanding and usage of standard wire brush so that when vi ewed without magnification, the surface shall
be free from vi sible oil, grease and dirt and from poorly adhering mill scale, rust, paint coatings and
foreign matter.
3. CONDI TI ON DURI NG APPL I CATI ON
When used in confined spaces, good ventilation is necessary. Do not use heated air until the solvents
have evaporated from the paint film to avoid surface dryi ng and solvent entrapment. The paint should
not be exposed to mechanical strain before being fully cured.
4. APPL I CATI ON AS PER I SO 3233:1998 STANDARD
Mix gray paint and hardener (ratio 10:1 Hardtop XP) as per paint manufacturer’ s
recommendation/specification. Dryi ng time to re-coat is typically a minimum of 10 hours.
4.1 Prime Coat
4.1.1. Apply the prime coat by sprayi ng
4.1.2. Apply two or more coats
4.1.3. Allow to dry, record ambient and substrate temperatures
4.1.4. Dry Film Thickness (DFT) : 200 μM (Minimum), 300 μM (Maxi mum)
4.1.5. Record Dry Film Thickness
4.2 Top Coat
Mix blue paint and hardener (ratio 7:1 Jotamastic 80) as per paint manufacturer’ s
recommendation / specification.
4.2.1. Sand and clean surface to be painted.
4.2.2. Apply top coat by sprayi ng.
4.2.3. Allow to dry, record ambient and substrate temperatures.
4.2.4. Dry Film Thickness (DFT) : 40 μM (Minimum), 60 μM (Maximum)
4.2.5. Total Dry Film Thickness ( Primer & Top Coat ) DFT: 240 µm( minimum ), 360 µm
( maxi mum )
