Keep track of your health starting from the date of first close contact with the sick person,
continuously for 14 days from the last close contact. Watch for the following signs and
symptoms:
Fever Measure body temperature twice a day.
Cough.
Shortness of breath.
Initial symptoms to watch for are chills, body aches, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, nausea /
vomiting and runny nose.
If you have a fever or any of these symptoms, call your health care provider right away.
Before you go to the doctor, make sure you tell your health care provider that you have been in
close contact with a suspect who is awaiting test results or infected with corona virus. This will
help the health care provider prepare in advance to avoid infecting others.
If you do not have any of the above symptoms, you can continue with your daily activities, such
as going to work, school or other public areas.
2. Preventing suspects who are waiting for test results or infected with 2019-nCoV, do not
require hospitalization and can be cared for at home
Doctors and public health workers will evaluate whether you can be cared for at home. If placed
at home isolation, staff from local or provincial / city health departments will monitor your health
status. You need to follow the precautions below until your health care provider confirms that
you can return to normal activities.
You should only operate indoors, unless you are seeking medical attention. Do not go to work,
school, or public areas, and do not use public transportation or taxis.
2.5. Handwashing
Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and
water are not available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with a content of at least
60%. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
WHO is working closely with global experts, governments and partners to rapidly expand
scientific knowledge on this new virus, to track the spread and virulence of the virus, and to
provide advice to countries and individuals on measures to protect health and prevent the
spread of this outbreak.
