Products Table
• Value - Use in inventory cost calculations
• Price - Selling Price
• Weight - Can also show size e.g., cubic
• Type - Discrete-whole numbers only; no decimals
Continuous-allows decimals, e.g., part of case/pallet
Customers Orders Table
• Import transactional-level orders into the model
• Guru can convert transactional orders into model demand
• Model can run off of Demand or Orders
Production Policies Table
• Define production capabilities in the network
• Specify Site, Product and Production Policy
• Policy Types:
Make - Model will pull production based on order or
demand signals
Make by Schedule - Model will push production based or
user-defined production schedule
Inventory Policies Table
• Specifies how inventory is renewed/replenished
• Must specify both Site and Product
• Only one inventory policy per Product/Site combination
• Policy Types:
Static Order - Fixed quantity to order, fixed quantity to
trigger order
Forecast-Based - DOS-Demand, DOS-Forecast
Make to Order - 1 for 1, Demand Flow

• Define Sourcing Structure for paths (Demand to
Production)
• Specify Site, Product, Sourcing Policy and Source
• Policy Types:
Single - Only 1 source can be selected for each
combination
Multiple - Multiple sources can be selected
Transportation Policies Table
• Specifies how products move between
• At least one transportation policy must be defined for each
Source/Destination combination
• More than one transportation policy can be specified for
each combination
• Policy Types:
Single mode - Model selects only one
Multiple Modes - Model can select based on probability
(timing or priority)
Modes Table
• Name - Used in Transportation Policies
• Variable Cost - Default cost for mode but can be
overridden by Transportation Policy
• Fixed Shipment Cost - Additional cost per shipment,
beyond variable cost
• Asset - Type of equipment that’s used for mode
