Confirm Accreditation of Professional Degree
Programme before Admission
It has been noticed with concern that degree programmes of some universities are being
initiated/continued without obtaining accreditation from the concerned Professional Councils.

Non-Recognition of such graduates by the Councils creates a direct negative impact on the future of
these students.

In the larger public interest, it is important that commencement of new professional programmes be only
undertaken after complete observance of all the requirements prescribed by the Councils. Students and
Parents are advised to confirm whether the degree programme of their interest is accredited by the
concerned Council before getting admission.

HEC Bans Admissions


in Distance Education Centres of
Sarhad University of Science & Information
Technology (SUIT), Peshawar
The Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar is a chartered
university in the private sector established under KPK Government Ordinance No. XXIV of 2001
dated August 30, 2001.

The admissions of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar in
all those programmes which are being offered through Distance Education Centres (DECs) have
been stopped.

The University has been advised to restrict its operations to on-campus programmes at HEC-
recognised Main Campus in Peshawar ONLY.

Prospective students are advised not to take admission in any programme through Distance
Education Centres of Sarhad University across the country, including AJ&K and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Otherwise, degrees of such students will not be recognised by HEC.

University of Central Punjab, Lahore


The University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore is a Chartered University in Private Sector and has
only been allowed to offer degree programmes from its principal seat in Lahore.

Students and their parents are advised not to take admission in any campus/college/branch/
outpost in Punjab where degree programmes of University of Central Punjab are being offered,
except main campus of UCP in Lahore, otherwise degrees of such students will not be recognised
by HEC.

Further, no fresh admissions are allowed in Associate Degree Programme (ADP) in any of the
colleges of UCP with effect from October 2, 2018. Prospective students are advised not to obtain
admission in any Associate Degree Programme of UCP.
