Installation
The process for installing ONYX X10.1 as a clean install, or on top of a previous version are very similar and will
both be covered in this section. If you are running a previous version from 7.x or newer, you may install version
X10.1 without uninstalling the older version first. Version 7.x will remain intact as a separate install on your system.
However, if you are currently running version X10, it will be updated to version X10.1 and will not remain as a
separate install on your system.

You may install ONYX X10.1 from either a disc or a download. The download can be found at
www.onyxgfx.com/downloads under Products. You will be directed to download and install a utility called the
Download Manager which is a pausable/resumable utility that can download either version X10 or X10.1 The file that
is downloaded is a self-extracting executable file which means that it will unpack the install files to a location on your
hard drive and then automatically run the installation.

Note: This download does not include any Printer Install Files. If you are installing on top of an older version,
your printers will automatically be updated to the base version of X10.1 If you are updating to X10.1 to resolve
a specific printer issue, you will also need to update the printer driver by following the next step regarding the
Printer and Profile Download Manager. If you are clean installing, or need to install a new printer, you will
need to download and install the Printer and Profile Download Manager which can be downloaded at
www.onyxgfx.com/downloads under Drivers and Profiles. This utility is used to download printer drivers and
media profiles in one file called a Printer Install File or .prninst

Once you have either an ONYX X10.1 disc or download, and have updated your key, you are ready to proceed with
the installation. First, plug your hardware key into your computer and close all the ONYX software. Next, run the
downloaded file, or disc to begin the installation. Read and Accept the End User License Agreement to proceed with
the installation.
