1. Introducción a la Unidad

There are several factors that make the English language essential to

communication in our current time. First of all, it is the most common

foreign language. This means that two people who come from different

countries (for example, a Mexican and a Sweden) usually use English as

a common language to communicate. That’s why everyone needs to

learn the language in order to get in touch on an international level.

Speaking it will help you communicate with people from countries all

over the world, not just English-speaking ones.

This course, as the first one, is both theoretical and practical. The main

purpose is giving the student tools to use this language in his professional

fields, with especial emphasis in topics like communication,

entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, development among other,

through reviewing grammar, and reading, writing and oral production

enhancement as main topics.

The importance of English as a means of world communication in the

industry, commerce, health, science and technology can not be

ignored. English has become essential in all the aspects of the

contemporary world.

As previously, this course focuses on language, not on technical details

of careers intending to improve confidence to use English in the

professional life of students.
