Chapter III

Methods of Research and Procedures

Research Design

A Purposive random sampling is used in this study. According to Oxford

dictionary, Purposive sampling is a form of sampling in which the selection of the

sample is based on the judgment of the researcher as to which subject’s best fit the

criteria of the study.

The main goal of purposive sampling is to focus on particular

characteristics of a population that are of interest, which will best enable you to

answer your research questions. Therefore, the researchers determined that a

purposive random sampling is appropriate for conducting the study and obtaining

the necessary data needed.

Research Locale

The Study will be conducted at Kids’ World Christian Academy – a private,

non-sectarian, educational institution located in San Mateo, Rizal. The said

institution currently offers preschool, elementary, junior and senior high school

consisting of approximately 319 students and an average population of 112 in

Junior High School and 9 in Grade 12. With these enough students, KWCA will be

a credible locale for this research as it schedules regular haircut inspection for male

students.

Participants

The researchers used purposive random sampling to obtain the information

on “The Perspective of Male High School Students of Kids’ World Christian

Academy Who Violated The Haircut Policy S.Y. 2019-2020”. The participants of

the study will be from the male High School students of Kids’ World Christian

Academy whose age is ranged from 12-13, 14-15 and 16-18. Out of One Hundred

Twelve (112) High school students, the researchers will select only Ten (10)

students with Two (2) students per year level.
