Beacon Removal

To have a beacon manually removed from the Neural Network a user must first be verified. This can be accomplished by
sending a transaction from the Gridcoin address associated with a CPID to this address:

The transaction can be any size but it must be sent from the correct address to prove ownership. To determine what
address your CPID is associated with run the command “execute beaconreport” from the console.

In Windows:

1. From the wallet select Help -> Debug window

2. In the new window select the Console tab:

 3. In the Console type the command ”execute beaconreport” and press the Enter/Return key :

4. Find your CPID in the report:

Tip: Copy and paste the report into a word processor and search the document for your CPID

The Alphanumeric sequence in quotes after your CPID is the address attached to your CPID. If you do not find your CPID
in this report you do not need to delete your beacon, there is something else wrong proceed to the IRC channel or the
official forum for help.
5. Turn on Coin Control features by selecting Settings -> Options…

6. Select the Display tab in the window then activate the option Display coin control features (experts only!)
7. Navigate to the Send Coins Screen and Select the Inputs… Button

8. Find the address found in step 4, activate the checkbox next to the address and select the OK button
 *Note that your address will be different from the screenshot above, it should match the address you found in
the Beacon Report in step 4. If the address is not present in the list on this screen proceed to the
Troubleshooting section of this document.

9. Complete the remaining fields in the Send Coins Screen:

 Pay To: SAuJGrxn724SVmpYNxb8gsi3tDgnFhTES9
 Message: Delete Beacon
 Amount: any amount of your choosing, must be less than address balance

10. Select the Send button in the lower right side of the screen. You may be presented with a dialog screen asking if
you want to add a transaction fee to the transaction. I recommend paying the fee – this helps support the
network.

11. Wait (typically takes less than 15 minutes but could be up to an hour) and watch your wallet for a return
transaction
 If your return transaction is in the amount of 0.00022 your beacon was deleted successfully.
Congratulations you are done! Your CPID should no longer be listed in the Beacon Report and you can
now re-advertise your beacon.
 If your return transaction is in the amount of 0.00011 your beacon was NOT deleted successfully. Please
proceed to the Trouble Shooting section.
Trouble Shooting
I can’t find my CPID in Beacon Report – You do not currently have a beacon in the network. Go to the console and
enter the command “execute advertisebeacon”

I received a transaction of 0.00022 but I still see my CPID in the Beacon Report – First, wait 15 minutes and try
again. Sometimes it takes time to propagate a change through the entire network. If after waiting try repeating the
delete beacon process in this document. Occasionally your CPID will be attached to multiple addresses in the
Beacon Report and they must all be deleted. If after receiving multiple success transactions your CPID remains in
the Beacon Report send a message to RTMoney on the cryptocointalk.com forum.

I received a transaction of 0.00011 what did I do wrong? - The most common reason for an error is sending a
transaction from the wrong address. To check this in the wallet Transactions screen - double click on the transaction
you sent to request your beacon delete. In the window that pops up details of the transaction are available, scroll
down to the Inputs: section. If the first address in this section does not match the address you found in step 4 you
sent the transaction incorrectly, review the steps above and try again.
