Guidelines for Mini Project for the Batch BSC CS 2016-19

GUIDELINES FOR MINI PROJECT (BSC COMPUTER SCIENCE)

AIM

• To train the student to independently formulate and solve a technological problem and present
the results in written and oral form.
• To expose students to the real life problems in the World of Work.
• To provide opportunities to students to interact with people and understand human relations.

ABOUT THE MINI PROJECT

 It carries 60 marks.
 10 Marks internal and 50 marks external
 The topic selected for the mini project by the students shall be scrutinized and if found
suitable, shall be approved by the internal guide.
 Topics already taken by students in the previous years will not be permitted.
 Students have to select at least 2 topics according to the order of preference.
 At the end of the work, student has to do a presentation and submit a project Report.

PREPARATION OF PROJECT REPORT

 Group Size - Maximum 4

 No. of records – No. of group members+ 1 (Department copy)
 Certificate should include the names of all members

The manuscript of the report should be organised in the following sequence.

 The body of the report
 Bibliography

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MINI PROJECT REPORT

PAGE DIMENSION AND BINDING SPECIFICATIONS:

The dimension of the project report should be in A4 size and should have the following margins.
Top edge : 3.5 cm
Bottom edge : 3.0cm
Left side : 4.0cm
Right side : 2.5cm

TYPING INSTRUCTIONS:
The typed copies should be black in colour. One and a half spacing should be used for typing the
general text. The general text shall be typed in the font style ‘Times NewRoman’ and font size14.
