HPL India Visit
Exposure to real life industries is one of the key elements implicitly
emphasized for the students who graduate from Punjabi University Regional
Centre for IT and Management. The activities are important for students to
relate their theoretical knowledge to practical aspects of the studied courses,
in terms of industrial unit operations, process and design concepts, and impact
of its activities on health, environment and society.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
TRIP TO NOHRADHAR-CHURDHAR
A fun day trip was organized to Nohradhar-Churdhar on April 17, 2019. A
small hamlet located in the Sirmour district of the State of Himachal
Pradesh, lies about 115 kilometers from Shimla. Nohradhar is no Tourist
spot, but it's a traveler's delight. The students had a fun time rejuvenating
and unwinding just before their exams with Camping, Trekking and Hill
Climbing.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
AKHANDPATHONTHECAMPUS
Shri Akhand Path Sahib was organized on the campus for the happiness,
growth and well being of the stakeholders on March 16-18, 2019. As part of
organizing the event, the students were socially engaged, which infused the
spiritual and community values. Students prepared and served Langar to the
gathering.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
OFFICIAL FAREWELL PARTY
Farewell party was organized for the MBA and M. Tech students at Hotel
Cellar, Sector 35, Chandigarh on 27th April 2019. The function began with the
Ramp Walk by students. Every student performed an activity of their choice.
Later junior students played video clip for senior students in which all the
memories of students has been recalled. Some students also performed
solo songs. Also students shared their views and experience about the
department. Refreshments for students & staff was arranged at the
restaurant after the function. Thus, an environment of enthusiasm was
experienced by every student and was memorable event to all in the
department.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
FLASH MOB
Practical application of novel trends in marketing was demonstrated by the
MBA students through a flash mob at Bestech Square Mall to highlight
Punjabi culture and societal issues on April 12, 2019. The students'
energetic performance was well appreciated by the audience and widely
publicized in the media.

GUEST ON THE CAMPUS
Ms. Anita Devgan
The Punjabi University Regio nal Centre fo r IT and Management
felicitated popular Pollywood actress Anita Devgan on April 5, 2018.
The actress interacted with the students and she emphasized that it
was important to keep originality in whatever you do. Devgan speaking
about her experiences briefed the students on how in every movie she has
tried to do different types of roles. She also emphasized on time management
in personal and professional life.

Candidates who have passed MSc-IT, B.Tech(CSE) or

M.Tech. (CSE) 2 years equivalent examination or higher degree examination 40+5

Candidates who have passed the Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in

any discipline of the statutory University with 50% marks in
aggregate 45% for SC/ST and physically handicapped with at
MCA 3 years least 40% disability. The candidates must have passed the senior 36
secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination or higher degree
examination with Mathematics/Statis-tics/Business Mathematics/
Business Statistics/Quantitative Tech-niques/or equivalent as
compulsory/optional/ additional subject or paper.

Students who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree of minimum

3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) with 50%

course at 10+2 level or at Graduate level shall be eligible for
admission to the second year of MCA course.
