SUBJECT: Feasibility report opening of CIIT sub campus in Abbottabad

The purpose of this report is to study the opening of CIIT sub-campus at Murree Road

near B.I.S.E Abbottabad. In this report all members of the group-1, BBA 2A were

involved. This report took a total of 20 days from 26 May 2010 to 14th June 2010. This

feasibility report was assigned to us by, Col. Ikram Ahmed, our report writing teacher.

Currently around 4000 students are enrolled in CIIT, the total number of lecture halls is

200 each with a capacity to seat 25-30. Therefore CIIT’s current campus is barely

meeting the requirements of it current students.

Due to the ever increasing number of students seeking admission in CIIT Abbottabad,

there is a dire need of a new campus to accommodate maximum number students. The

available resources like bank balance and fee, paid by the students, sum up to

approximately 500 million for the coming semester. A piece of land, of 60 Acres, on

Murree Road can be bought for approximately 400 million. The remaining 100 million

will be spent on the construction of the building and fitting of the fixtures and amenities.

The new campus will have 300 lecture halls each having a capacity to seat 60 students

therefore meeting the current as well as future demands. The new campus will also have a

library containing more than 30,000 books and 1000 term-papers and research studies.

The new campus will also features two computer labs, one dedicated to the students of IT

while other will be a general computer lab, there will be a total of 1200 computers in both
the labs. A separate block will be build for the faculty offices, a 4 story building will be

erected on 5-marla land containing 120 offices each equipped with a computer, a printer,

fax machine and a phone. If everything goes according to the plan the new building will

be erected and be ready for use within the next two years. The remaining expenditure will

be paid by the help of a bank loan.

The bank loan will be paid by the fees of students who will join the new campus. The

new campus will help in enhancing the image of the institute and moreover it will solve

the issue of congestion and the lack of available seats for the new students. The new

library will help the students in studying extensively for each of their course learning the

concepts in better way. The computer labs with a total of 1200 computers will ensure that

there is at least one computer for 3 students. The new faculty block will provide better

facilities to the faculty and will help in attracting the best faculty staff that is available in

the market.
