Awareness The teacher will ask the students this question: What is the second step of scientific method?
The second step of scientific method is to formulate a hypothesis.

Activity Using the same groupings which the class had last meeting, the students will be tasked to
provide answers or explanations to the problems which they proposed.
Analysis Pose these questions to the class:
1. How would you describe a hypothesis based from the activity?
A hypothesis is a temporary answer or solution to the problem.
2. What are the things to consider in making a hypothesis?
It must be testable, that one can be able to verify it through an investigation. In addition, it
should make sense to anyone who will read it and it should answer the problem.
3. How to write a hypothesis?
In writing a hypothesis, one can begin with an observation, followed by an explanation or
prediction.

Abstraction What is meant by the second step of scientific method?

Application One of the problems faced by students nowadays is teenage anxiety. Formulate hypotheses
on why teens experience anxiety.
Assessment Formulate a hypothesis for every question.
1. How does classroom temperature affect students’ performance in a test?
2. Does the type of soil affect the growth of plants?
