Verifiable backflow preventer with
reduced pressure zone.

This backflow protection device is

commonly known as an “RPZ Valve
Assembly”.

A Type AA air gap should be provided

between the relief outlet port and the top of
the allied tundish.

Anti-vacuum valve (or vacuum breaker).

The device must be fitted on a Type A

upstand so that the outlet is not less than
300mm above the free discharge point, or
spillover level of the appliance, and have no
valve, flow restrictor or tap on its outlet.

Pipe interrupter vent and moving

element.

The device is to be fitted with the lowest

point of the air aperture not less than 150
mm above the free discharge point, or
spillover level of the appliance, and have no
valve or restriction on its outlet.

atmospheric vent.

Except for urinals, this device must be fitted

with the lowest point of the air aperture not
less than 150 mm above the free discharge
point, or spillover level of an appliance, and
have no valve, flow restrictor or tap on its
outlet.

In the case of urinals the device is to be

fixed not less than 150 mm above the
sparge outlet.
