UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
MIRAMAR BEACH: A study on the marine life, Sustainable Tourism and how tourism has helped the local
community and the modernisation in the lives of fishermen. It is the place of confluence of the Mondovi River with
Arabian Sea. It is very peaceful on this beach and the view of the Aguada Fort from the beach is a beautiful sight.
AGUADA FORT: - Learn about the History of Portuguese and their military architecture. The Fort is built of durable
late rite stone &natural terrain in order to make it more difficult for its walls to be breached. A fresh water spring in
the fort was a source of water for the ships that pass by. The fort with a large capacity of storage space and the light
house were the most prized buildings of the Portuguese in Goa.
BASALICA OF BOM JESUS:-Study about the Jesuit architecture and Historical Monuments of Goa. The imposing
facade built out of black granite is an exquisite combination of the Doric, Corinthian and composite styles. It
is remarkable for its simplicity. The mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier is preserved here.
ANCESTRAL GOA: - Explore the four centuries of Portuguese rule and that of other rulers before them, they have
given Goa a unique life-style, that consists of a blend of Indian and Western influences. Goa has its own varied
culture and architecture which can be seen in its towns and villages. Ancestral Goa is dedicated to the preservation
of art, culture, environment and its past and rich traditions.
SUN DOWN CRUISE - Experience the leisure cruise along the Mondovi River. While the boat sails down the river,
local boys and girls perform folk dances and sing mandos; their performance is followed up by a live band.
CALANGUTE BEACH - Understand the processes and factors responsible for distinctive landforms in the stretch of
coastline, assessing how a sustainable and different method of coastal protection is possible in this region. The most
visited beach in Goa.

DAY-2 GOA
THE BOM JESUS BASILICA, perhaps Goa's most famous church and among the most
revered by Christians worldwide is partially in ruins but still a model of simplicity and
elegance, and a fine example of Jesuit architecture. - Here lays the incorruptible remains
of St. Francis Xavier. The Bom Jesus Basilica is a WORLD HERITAGE MONUMENT This
magnificent edifice stands as a superb example of Baroque architecture in Goa
SE CATHEDRAL-One of the most ancient and celebrated religious buildings of Goa, this
magnificent 16th century monument to the Roman Catholic rule in Goa under the
Portuguese is the largest church in Asia. The Cathedral is dedicated to St. Catherine of
Alexandria on whose feast day in 1510 Alfonso Albuquerque defeated the Muslim army
and took possession of the city of Goa. Hence it is also known as St. Catherine's'
Cathedral
ST. AUGUSTINE TOWER-One of the most spectacular of all monuments in Goa,
reproduced on innumerable travel brochures and advertisements is the St Augustine
tower in Old Goa. This highly visible landmark, a 46m-high tower served as a belfry and
formed part of the facade of a magnificent Church
Arrival and visit SUN DOWN CRUISE – A pleasant 60 minutes to enjoy the calm and cool of River
Mondovi, while you watch the lovely culture of Goa in song and dance like DEKHNI,
FUGDI and PORTUGESE CORREDINHO WITH LIVE MUSIC
Later proceed to Hotel.
DAY-3 GOA
Wake up and freshen up
Breakfast will be provided.
Proceed to visit Ancestral Goa
Arrival and visit ANCESTRAL GOA- Ancestral Goa / Big Foot are an integral part of the
South Goa Tour operated by Goa Tourism Development Corporation. The names
are catchy and give an impression of some important places which are distinct
from the ‘beach tourism’ that Goa is famous for. My personal experience so far
tells me that approximately 99% of the visitors to this tourist ‘attraction’ are
coming through conducted tours only and if that were not the case, this place
would not even figure so much in the Goa travel literature.
