I. PRE-LESSON
Engage
1. Teacher writes the objectives of the lesson.
2. Teacher recaps previous lesson by using i-Think Map (Tree Map) according to Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3 on the
board.
3. On each three tree branches, the teacher will ask students to list out the characters involved.

II. LESSON OUTLINE

(Roleplay)

3. Pupils will be divided into previous groups based on assigned chapter.


4. Pupils will be given props based on the characters they would play.
5. These props such as Spectacles, T-shirt, Headband, a Fake Mustache, A Scarf and etc.
6. Based on the props given, the pupils will act and deliver the lines with permission to refer the text.
7. Pupils will continue their roleplay in turns according to the chapter.
8. All other pupil will focus on the group roleplay.
9. Teacher will facilitate and walks around the class.

Explain and Expand

10. Based on the group formed, teacher continues the previous round by facilitating students roleplay by reassigning
appropriate props to the respective characters.
11. Together, teacher will discuss the flow of the short story by using a Flow Map on the board with the class.
12. The flow map will consist of Chapter 1, Chapter 2 and Chapter 3. In each chapter, teacher will list on the board details of
event happening on the board.

b. Each pupil will receive a handout provided by the teacher.
c. Individually, pupil need to answer 3 questions and discuss amongst themselves.
d. Questions are as follows
i. Question 1: 3 chores that the characters have done.
ii. Question 2: 2 reasons why they lost the money they earn.
iii. Question 3: 1 moral value that you have learned
