Work and Travel Applicant Name: Ignacio Nicolas Garcia Ormart Date: 10/03/2016
2. What do you hope to learn on your Work and Travel program? What are your top 3 expectations?
I really hope to improve my language skills and learn about people's customs. I expect to have a great time with
friends, travel around the states and have an overall good experience.
4. Do you have any prior domestic or international travel experience? Was it alone, with friends, or with family?
I travelled twice in work and travel programs with friends.
5. Have you previously visited the United States? If yes, when and for what purpose?
From December 2014 to April 2015 and from December 2015 to April 2016, for work and travel programs.
8. Have you ever had a job before? If yes, please describe your favorite and worst work experiences you’ve had, and
explain why you did and did not like those experiences:
Yes. Favorite experience is working with friends and having to figure out how to deal with customer's problems. Worst
experience when you deal with someone that just won't let you help him.
9. What chores and responsibilities do you have, when you are living at your parent’s house?
Taking care of pets, run errands and paying some bills.
11. What personal qualities and qualifications do you have that will lead to your success at a U.S. host company?
I'm hard working and a quick learner. Brain storming solutions to problems people may have is one of my specialties.
12. Please give me examples of how you solve problems with people around you:
That depends on where I'm working at. For example, when I worked at ski valet, the objective was making sure the
client had a good day of skiing. Problems they might have were previously thought so as to avoid them.
13. Please give me examples of how you handle challenges/difficult situations and disappointments:
For instance, when I worked in ski valet, I always took care of the client, either by finding missing gear or renting new
one. Never say no to the client was the first thing we were taught to do.
14. Have you shared a room with another person and are you comfortable doing so?
Yes I have shared a room with other 3 people and I was comfortable doing so.
15. Do you understand and accept all SWT program rules and expectations, including that your program may be ended
or terminated if you are fired from your job because your behavior or actions on the job or elsewhere becomes
unacceptable, illegal, or in violation of any program rule?
Yes
16. Yes or No, do you currently or have you ever had any physical or mental condition (including drug addiction,
alcoholism, etc.) that could interfere with successful completion of your program or the welfare or wellbeing of others
around you? If yes, please describe:
No
17. Please list all medications you will be taking during the program and for which diseases/conditions:
Clonazepam, Carbamazepine, Lamotrigine. All for epilepsy that occurs during sleep time.
18. What financial plans have you made for this trip? Please compare and describe to me the costs of participating in
this SWT program versus the amount you expect to earn:
I have already done the trip twice, and I do it for the experience, but I save enough to try to cover the program costs
and having the possibility of returning.
19. Please confirm that you understand that you may earn significantly less than you expect, due to unforeseen
circumstances (like sickness, being fired, inclement weather etc.):
I do.
20. What personal and professional goals do you have for yourself in two years? Four years?
Hopefully I will be done with my studies and start working as a professional engineer
21. What are your interests and hobbies apart from work and university?
Music, playing the guitar and keyboard. Snowboarding. Cars and anything with an engine on it.
22. What travel plans do you have in the U.S. after your Work and Travel Program ends?
I am planning to travel to California, more specifically San Diego and Los Angeles.
