through analysing the
pictures that they have
completed.

Ask the students these questions:

 What do you think is the reason why the sky is blue?
 Why is the sunset red?
C. Presenting examples/ instances Activity 3: Picture Analysis & Art of Questioning  This activity helps the
of the lesson students to unintentionally
reveal the topic for today
by showing some pictures
that show color spectrum
from white light.

Ask the students these questions:

1. What did you notice in the pictures shown?
2. What do you think is the reason why the rainbow or the color spectrum always has the same
arrangement of colors?

Students will be tasked to read the objectives.

Objectives:
a. define frequency, wavelength, and wave speed;
b. relate colors of the white light to frequency and wavelength;
c. distinguish the wavelength, frequency of each colors in the color spectrum;
d. solve for the wave speed of each colors in the color spectrum;
e. color the blank color wheel based on the guide; and
f. state the importance of light and colors in our lives.
Discussing new concepts and Activity 4: Colors of Light
practicing new skills #1 Instruct each group’s representatives and let them choose on what color will be assigned to them by means of
draw-lots. Each group should complete the table by filling out the needed information in their assigned color.
Each group will show their solutions on the illustration board and report it to the class

Colors of Light

I. Objectives:
In this activity, students will be able to:
b. explore the characteristics of light such as frequency, wavelength and wave speed;
c. identify the frequency and wavelength of the colors in the spectrum wheel; and
d. solve for the wave speed of each color.

II. Materials:
spectrum wheel

wave speed of each colors in
III. Procedure: the visible spectrum.
1. Turn the upper wheel until you find the color assigned to your group.
2. Complete the table by listing the frequency and wavelength in the table of your assigned color. You will
need to convert frequencies to Hz and the equivalent wavelengths to meters. Note that Tera (T) is a
prefix equivalent to 1012 while nano (n) is a prefix equivalent to 10-9.
3. Solve for its wave speed by multiplying the frequency and wavelength of the color assigned to your
group.
