Air Filter Sellection Criteria

The following questions should be considered when selecting an appropriate air

filter for your system.

Application:
It should be well considered that where and what the filters will used for. It should
be a general air conditioning system for general purpose or it should be a
hospital where high quality air is needed.

Specifications of the contaminants that need to separated:

Charecteristic such as size and type of contaminants that the filter is required to deal with are major factors
in the suitability and sustainability of sellected filter.

Filtration efficiency that is required:

Efficiency of the filter is one of the important criteria that should be well considered. In order to avoid high
pressure drop and energy consumption suitable efficiency should be sellected for the enviroment.

Environmental Conditions:
Within each of our product ranges each individual filter should have been designed for specific purpose or
specific environmental conditions. Factors that the filter will be effected such as tempetature, humidty,
corrosion, etc., should be well considered.

Will the filter need to be incinerated at the end of its life?

If the filter is being used to separate toxic or harmful substances then it will typically have to be destroyed
through incineration. In this case, ensure that you select a filter which can be incinerated easily.

What level of pressure drop is acceptable?

For certain applications a filter’s pressure drop is vitally important to the entire system's performance.
Suitable filter with acceptable pressure drop should be selected for your systems.

Dust holding capacity of the filter

Filter selection should be done according to dust quantity that the filter will be exposed. With dust holding
capacity a filter should has a long service life.

What size of filter do you require?

A suitable filter which has all the specification should be in optimum dimensions. Meanwhile standart size
filters has price advantace and short delievery period compared to custom size filters.

Filter Housing:
Housing and replacement of the filter should be considered very carefully before the filter will be selected .

Filter Efficiency Class : F6 (EU6) - F7(EU7) - F8(EU8) - F9(EU9)
RIGIPAN

Designed for high efficiency filtration for use in hospitals,

pharmaceutical industry etc. Suitable for an air handling
unit in which space is limited. Can be used as high
efficiency filters instead of low efficiency current filters
in air conditioning systems.Alternative filters for
RIGICELL

Designed for high efficiency filtration for use in hospitals,

pharmaceutical industry etc. Suitable for an air handling
unit in which space is limited. Can be used as high
efficiency filters instead of low efficiency current filters
in air conditioning systems. Compact and robust
construction and growing efficiency during operation
can be used as final filter. Shockproof plastic frame
holding a glass micro fiber filter panel; medium is
pleated in order to create a rigid filter structure.
Filter Efficiency Class: F6 (EU6) - F7(EU7)

Test & Validation

Validation: Testing and verifying the quality, reproducibility and reliability of facility and its design, systems
(HVAC/water/pressurized air etc.), equipments, process or product

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) System Validation

+ HEPA Filter Leakage Test

The test according to “IEST-RP-CC034: HEPA And ULPA Filter Leak Tests” standard which is performed after
the montage of HEPA filters by using photometer and aerosol generator (with PAO poly-alpha olefin liquid) to
control whether there is leakage on filter surface, gasket and cabinet within acceptance criteria defined in the
standard. When there is no change in the system, this test must be performed at least once a year based on
the critically of processes in which HEPA filters are used. This test is also defined as Integrity or DOP test.
(HEPA Filter - High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter)

+ Airflow Volume Measurement And Calculation Of Air Change Rate

The test is performed to control whether the quality and quantity of airflow in the clean room is in conformity
with the air cleanliness class defined in “IEST-RP-CC006: Testing Clean Rooms” and “ISO 14644-3: Clean
Rooms And Associated Controlled Environments - Part 3: Test Methods” standards by measurement of
airflow volumes with balometer and calculating air change rate.
