the first in MS is to define problem. Once the problem has
been precisely the research can be design and conducted properly.
 Development of an approach to the problem:
Development an approach to the problem includes
formulation of objectives (research question),hypothesis and identify factor
that can effect research design.

 Exploratory Research:
It conducted with discovering the general nature of the problem and the variables
related to it. Exploratory research is characterize on judgment sample , small scale
survey & simple experiment and subject valuation of result. it characterizes by high
degree of flexibility of data.
 Descriptive Research
It is focused on the accurate description of variables in the problem model .for
example consumer profile, market potential, product usage studies, attitude survey,
sales analysis and price survey etc.
 Causal Research
It attempts to specify the nature of functional relationship b/w two or more
variables in problem models . studies on a effectiveness of advertising in that study
advertising promoting the sales and altering the consumer behavior.
Hypothesis:
Aproposal intended to explain certain facts & observation.
OR
Concept that isn’t yet verify that is if true would explain certain effect &
phenomena.
Theory:
A scientific hypothesis that survives experimental testing becomes a scientific
theory.
