LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES

 I have created and shared with my grade level team excel sheets that helps break
down student data. Breaking down the data has helped improve small group
instruction.
 I collaborate with my grade level team when we collect assessment data and think of
ways to improve student learning.
 I provide constructive criticism to colleagues who are finding a topic challenging to
teach to their group or who are having behavioral concerns.

LEADERSHIP GOALS

I will develop my leadership in Advocating for Student Learning and the Profession

 GOAL: Collaborate with colleagues to identify and use research to advocate for
teaching and learning processes that meet the needs of all students
 OBJECTIVE: Collaborate and research with grade level team science curriculum
choices that meet the needs of all students. (short-term)
 OBJECTIVE: Attend a professional development that focuses on research advocating
for teaching and learning processes. (long-term)
 RATIONALE: Find curriculum that best fits the California NGSS Framework
 RATIONALE: Find curriculum that best fits the California Common Core Standards
 NBPTS: Proposition 1. Teachers are committed to students and their learning

I will develop my leadership in Outreach and Collaboration with Families and


Community

 GOAL: Collaborate with families and community to develop comprehensive


strategies to address the diverse educational needs of families and the community.
 OBJECTIVE: Set up a math or reading night for my families so we can address the
diverse educational needs of our students. (short-term)
 OBJECTIVE: Participate in the Parent Advocacy Committee. (long-term)
 RATIONALE: The NEA Policy Brief states that research has shown that when schools,
parents, families, and communities work together to support learning, students tend
to earn higher grades, attend school more regularly, stay in school longer, and enroll
in higher level programs.
 NBPTS: Proposition 5. Teachers are members of professional communities
 TLMD: Domain 6. Improves Outreach and Collaboration with Families and
Community
 TEACHER INQUIRY: I will collaborate with families by setting up a “community night”
for my Teacher Inquiry Project

 GOAL: Facilitate the collection, analysis, and use of classroom and school-based data
to identify opportunities to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, school
organization, and school culture.
 OBJECTIVE: Collect, analyze, and use my classroom assessment data on a language
arts unit to identify opportunities to improve curriculum. (short-term)
 OBJECTIVE: Participate in the Instruction and Curriculum Committee. (long-term)
 RATIONALE: There are many benefits such as career advancement and experience for
National Board Certification
 NBPTS: Proposition 2. Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those
subjects to students
 TLMD: Domain 4. Facilitates Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning
