Landolt Engineering got its start with conveyance technology. These days, however,
seven engineers at this 25-person company develop and optimize assemblies and
systems for use by industry customers. The company headquartered in Reichenburg,
Switzerland, has also made a name for itself as a manufacturer of system components,
which Landolt produces in close cooperation with another local enterprise, VERWO, and
its 300 employees.

In order to further strengthen its system
design area, which generates 40 percent
of revenues, Conradin Egli was looking
for a solution to optimize his company‘s
internal manufacturing processes. „As
a systems supplier that also purchases
individual components, we have to be

any difficulty,“ explains Egli.

To ensure that any tolerance deviations

are discovered before assembly, the CEO

though, this approach made internal
processes slower and more expensive.
For the CEO, it quickly became clear that
his employees would only become more
efficient, flexible and faster if they could
scan the parts themselves. There was yet

And that‘s not all: „Since we started

doing in-house scans, we can provide
our suppliers with high-quality feedback
far more quickly. This, in turn, enables
them to optimize their own processes
at greater speed,“ says Egli. „This is
an essential requirement for efficient
inter-company cooperation and giving
customers the quality they have come to
expect.“

Egli opted for ZEISS after trying out

All these devices were put through the

large part because of superior system
handling when scanning, which proved
faster than with competitors‘ offerings.
There was also no need to set reference

Egli felt more confident that he was
